drew, what do we know right now? >> reporter: one of the township leaders just came over and briefed us on this, telling us the sad news that a toddler, possibly as young as 2 or 3 years old was shot and killed. the early indications that it may have been an accidental shooting. it happened right here in this home at the corner of bethel road. police first responding around 4:00 to reports of a child with a gunshot wound. we were here as detectives arrived and roped off this home. going inside. we saw them coming out about bags of evidence. unclear whether they took the gun out of the home. we were also here as the young child's body was carried out of the house. they didn't even transport the child. the child had died here on the scene. the investigation in its very early stages right now. it's unclear if there was foul play. though we were told that the family members of that young child were down at the chester township police department right now answering questions. unclear where that gun was, or how this all un
