rainfall right now moving out of center city into west deptford, paulsboro, ridley also around media, drexelooking at some downpours as you move into chester county around the west goshen area. you're looking at some torrential rain as well. so here's 322. i-95 the airport looking at very heavy rainfall right now but once again around the media area as you move toward 202 eventually head flood chadds ford. you're looking at some of those very heavy downpours and then it's going to be moving out over the next 15 to 30 minutes or so. so brief hitter but then we're looking at some clearing skies to the north and northeast philadelphia, also, bucks county, mercer county, but the tracker has this continuing to move on off to the south. so watch out around chadds ford eventually back toward wilmington, delaware. but watch what happens over the next couple of hours. the coverage starts to diminish because we lose that daytime heating we've seen those tall cloud tops up drafts have been strong enough to produce some of that small hail in sections of the area. so things settle down for the overnight.

police followed the vehicle to drexel, 54th street then this area of 63rd and overbrook.was there they say the vehicle would not pull over and circled the block. both unmarked and marked police vehicles surrounded the suspicious vehicle with lights and sirens on. then officers approached on foot. the drivers did not listen to commands to stop and was driving towards those police officers when one of the plainclothes officers from the unmarked vehicle fired four shots at the driver who was hit in the chest. they later found out that that driver was not armed with a gun. now, police transported him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. police officers have remained out here on the scene. there's still crime scene tape up at this time. this is still very early in this investigation. since this is a fatal shooting that involves police officers there's still a lot of work to be done. we did see numerous detectives walking around the area trying to gather if there was any witness accounts and also getting all of those statements from the police officers involved.

drexel university will break ground on u-32. will provide homes and a preschool for graduate students, faculty and staff as well as other professionals in the area. the project is expected to be completed next spring. >>> an engineer hurt inç a fal at rodan museum has received $7.25 million. he falls four stories to the floor of the museum in november of 2012. he was expecting light fixtures in the museum's attic when he plunged through what his lawyers call an unsecured glass floor. he suffered broken limbs and brain injuries. the engineer's attorney claimed there were no signs warning of the danger. >> if there's a hazard on your property, first and foremost, fix it. and secondly, if for some reason you can't, then for goodness sake, when you invite people on to your property, tell them about it. >> the museum is administered by the philadelphia museum of art which insists there were appropriate warning signs and safety precautions. >>> new details in the prince death investigation. a search warrant reveals a minnesota doctor

. >>> police are searching for this teen. 18-year-old dominic love of drexel hill is wanted for allegedly firing a gun during playground at a -- at a playground monday afternoon police say love was among a large group of teens gathered at the bond of a playground when he pulled out a handgun and fired a shot in the air. police say the incident began in upper darby high school and one group of students called out another group on snap chat. fight was supposed to take place at the playground and love is is not a student at the high school so anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police right away. we are learning more tonight about a gun scare at a philadelphia school. police say the incident is all a mistake. eight-year-old boy showed up at grover cleveland mastery charter with a gun in his backpack earlier today. police now tell us the boy's dad put the gun in the backpack in a rush while he was doing some other things and police say the guy forgot about the the gun when he drop his son off at school. the boy turned the gun in to school officials when he found it. police

her only son, 27-year-old jamal, a drexel grad, a philly bike commuter, killed on his bike by a hit-and-runeginning of 2015. >> last in the house just in tears, i said no, it's jamal, it's my son that's gone, i'm never going to see him again. >> reporter: the nbc 10 investigators got records for every philly bike crash since 2014, more than 1,500 of them. we discovered crashes spread across the city, most happening in the afternoon and evening hours and we found a clear pattern. starting in june, crashes spiked to a monthly average of more than 80, nearly 3 a day. that spike continues through summer, peaking in september with an average of 95 crashes. we found locations patterns, too. broad street shows up more often than any other street. 76 crashes in just 2 1/2 years of reports. spruce street was a close second. 63 crashes. even with its painted bike lane. sarah clark-stewart head of the bicycle coalition of greater philadelphia is now focused on one leading cause. especially for the crashes that turn deadly. >> speeding is what causes a third of the fatalities in philadelphia. >> report
