still very strong organic growth, but shave a little back to get better returns, move dry gas drillingo liquid oriented drilling. it's all the things you would want a management team to do, but there are some -- there's a narrow group of investors that maybe just want that little extra piece of growth. we're very pleased with how the investor conference went, and i think more importantly, the company's future is really in great shape. >> i need you to put into context some rather incredible figures. we all get excited about eagle ford and bakken. your one gulf of mexico well. how much does that produce relative to like, say, a lot of the companies we talk about with big holdings in bakken and eagle ford? >> as you know, the one independence hub production platform we had produced almost 2% of the natural gas in north america when it was at its very peak, so these are very, very significant big-time assets, and the stuff we're doing in mozambique is very similar. i mean you're going to have, you know, a facility that will produce almost 1.5 bcf a day of gas, and that's what you'll get o

because that's largely nat gas, isn't it? >> it's dry natural gas, which is a little bit of a tough play right now. if you go back when we got into it, we actually did a structured deal and we had a carry obligation. so we will satisfy the balance of that carry obligation in 2012. so we'll continue to expand to hold the acreage position and add some reserves and production. but in the interests of a longer-term value build through the natural gas. >> in the conference call from february 24th talk about bakken's gotten expensive. are you abe to make enough money even after all the expenses because it's hard to get the oil out of the bakken. >> this is where technology has taken the resource plays. is it still able to make money? oh, absolutely. for example, 90% of the wells that we'll drill in the bakken this year are what we call longs. and when we look at the economics, the long wells, we're projecting that the net present value at a 10% discount is still around $12 million to $13 million per well. so it's a money maker. >> now, some of

>> ilt not going to surprise you we're at the lower end of that investment level, at what we call dry gaswe're just producing natural gas, we're at the lower end. its prices start to shrink a bit. we have a port foalio now that can absorb $5 or $6 billion of investment. but the coral larry is we're also investing in those same-type drilling reservoirs but there are those that have more liquid than oil in them. it's part of the reason you're seeing an increase in oil production right now. >> at this point we're looking at natural gas prices for around $2.31. what's a level that would make you say it's profitable? >> that's a great question. we do need to get back to a more normalized level. shell looks at that and said over the very long term, we think natural gas prices are in that $4 to $6 but certainly for the foreseeable years, around $4 probably makes the most sense. that's enough to be afford to do the work to develop the resource and that's an incredibly strong beneficial price to the country, providing cheap feed stocks for manufacturing and lowering people's costs. >> how do i get

tax breaks you are talking about, in fact, are incentives for independent oil and gas exploration that. market would dry up without the incentives. you are asking people to go out and spend a lot of money drilling a hole to see whether or not they can produce oil or gas. we want more people doing that, not less. we want them to produce more resource, not fewer. frankly, i think this president has it backwards. he tells us, he wants to lower gas prices and then he goes on a war, attacking and accusing the very people who produce the gas scpleent natural gas he's talking about. they do this regularly. they have eight different agencies trying to figure out how to stop the natural gas companies from using fracking, the technique by which they produce the enormous breakthrough in natural gas, which has brought the price of natural gas down from $7.97 a unit to $2.05. if we had the same reduction in gasoline twould be $1.13 a gallon. i am favor of following the same pattern with natural gas, where we have increased production dramatically and lowered prices as a consequence. >> let me go to the sanctions aga
