dubuque police arrested 62 year old dolores flynn this afternoon at dubuque's mercy hospital. last week, dubuque police found the body of gary breckenridge inside his home at 2944 jackson street. they found flynn, who lived with breckenridge, at a nearby laundromat. determined breckenridge died from a severe blow to his head. and police say flynn told family members she hit breckenridge with a baseball bat that she then hid in a ditch. police later found the bat, and they say surveillance video appears to show flynn walking to and from that location. she's now in the dubuque county jail with a bond of 500 thousand dollars. firefighters say a pet dog saved a central city family when their home caught on fire. fire chief james o'leary said the dog woke up the family in called 9-1-1. firefighters arrived at 1933 spent hours battling the flames then returned at seven a-m when the fire rekindled. they say the house is likely a total loss. plans to build a mosque in dubuque are underway. tri-state islamic center the required zoning approval and building permit. the center says it's

officers took her to mercy medical center in dubuque. authorities have not released the woman's name at this point in time. officers from the dubuque county drug task force were also at the arrest scene. a former iowa band teacher pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. 32-year-old benjamin thompson entered the plea on monday. he was charged with 3 counts of sexual abuse of the thompson was the band teacher at pella high school. prosecutors say he had a sexual relationship with the charles city girl in may and july of 20-11. march 28th. thompson also pleaded not guilty to 3 counts of sexual exploitation by a school a hearing on those charges is set for april 5th. two men are in the dubuque county jail this morning for breaking into someone's home. office responded to a house near the intersection of asbury and 5 point lane road near graf. that was about 11:15 yesterday morning. police say 22 year old logan ball was inside and taking items from the house when the homeowner confronted him. the two fought, but ball got away a

"all cars report of a possible shooting at 920 main street. we got a call from a subject saying there was a subject accidentally shot. they were going to be transporting them in a green camry. then they disconnected." " police say they arrived on the scene before the child left in that green camry. they say some people at the scene told officers the child was not actually shot, but rather was cut by some broken glass. but investigators say as paramedics took a closer look at him, they determined he did in fact have a gun shot wound. police say, right now, they still aren't
