this was requested by my predecessor, supervisor dufty. although corporate shuttles are in various parts of the city, there isn't a significant presence of corporate shuttles in district 8, particularly in noe valley, parts of the castro. these corporate shuttles, in my personal in view, provided a critical service to our city and many residents of our city, in terms of allowing people to live here who may not otherwise do so if they were required to commute by car every day, and by getting a lot of people out of their cars, providing significant transportation service to the city that we do not have to pay for. it provides significant benefit to the environment. of course, it is appropriate for us to make sure that we are working closely with these corporate shuttles, making sure they are being respectful of our streets, neighborhoods, and i applaud the ta for undertaking this study so we can move to a system where the shuttles can do what they need to do, but in a way that is very collaborative with the city, mta. one thing i want to str

you have people like bevan dufty, david chiu, even john avalon's common john campos, and ross mirkarimi, all had indicated an interest. so you have people on the board who want to run for mayor. do they go for the caretaker mayor, or do they put those interests aside and best themselves with a politician that has a good chance of being elected? with that dilemma in front of them, we saw what happened. they could not put their egos aside. they generally would with the caretaker mayor. that person would pose no threat of running against them. >> when the board met next week on november 23, the clerk of the board proposed a process for nomination for mayor, which the board debated, amended, and eventually passed. >> a board member read the nominated may not produce pig in the discussion or vote on the competitor nominees. if the nominee of a board member nominee has been withdrawn, the board member may no longer have a conflict and could return to the room and to dissipate. >> basically, a process that i am proposing is one in which, one, would maximize per dissipation. members of the boar

[applause] i would like to express my gratitude to our fellow board members. we have a lot of new board members. i am so proud of all of you. our treasurer, dale hemminger. joshua smith has been with us for years. the board secretary, our new board members. [applause] this year marks the 45th anniversary of san francisco pride. we continue to create diversity and march in the street parades. this year we will be focusing on our youth. pride is at the forefront of protecting the lgbt youth and fighting against bullying. our committee has continued to fight since last year. we had a big treat with don't ask, don't tell. a federal judge overturned proposition 8. we continue to fight hiv and aids for our committee. the theme this year "in pride we trust," many ask how we could have that thing this year. it is in san francisco that we fight for equality, a diverse culture, we fight for liberty and freedom for everybody. it is fitting that the community, our leaders, that we can trust our

this was adopted by the former commissioner in wrist -- former commissioner dufty. this was generating a high degree of public and neighborhood concern regarding neighborhood impact and city agencies that could have a venue and policy to manage and integrate this formerly absent part of the system. we are also approached as it was developed by a group of downtown shuttled of -- shuttle providers who needed better interest in informal collaboration or more formal conflict -- consolidation. that has been the focus on regional employer based shuttles as well as circulator shuttles. i will give the rest of my presentation on the region and i will have -- if you have questions i will be glad to answer any topic. supervisor campos: in terms of process, once the report is moved, what is the next step in terms of taking the recommendations that are in the report? >> i will address this in a couple of slides in the presentation. two of the approved items were to provide local matches. one of the sub-processes of that effort is to pilot the recommendation. supervisor campos:

[applause] so, the next question is from bill hirsch. given the cuts in funding for hiv/aids services, do you promise to protect services for san francisco's most vulnerable residence? maybe you can state with the department's plans are and where we are? >> thank you. >> [unintelligible] >> in the chief finance officer for the health department. what i can tell you is we were given a fairly large budget target. be the largest city, the largest amount of discretionary funds. it is understandable we would have the largest general fund reduction target. we've met the majority of the target with the revenues, and we've also identified a number of deficiencies we can still at the end of the day to close the deficit. we have proposed some budget service reductions. we have made no reductions of any kind to aids prevention services at all. we made that decision in recognition of the fact that we may be facing reductions in care funding. that is an issue we view as cer
