i talked to bev and dufty, i talked to beau hayward. it got so bad that we were engaging enforcement. enforcement was doing sound checks repeatedly. i think at least nine times the sound checks were done, and he was in violation of his conditions of use. the noise was so lloyd and so pervasive across the street -- loud and so pervasive across the street. it was closer to a bar across the street, you could actually hear trigger, and you could not hear the cafe, which is also a dance club. we decided to get together in february, because we didn't want to get to this point, as dennis mentioned, and we agreed to reset the clock. the agreement was between everybody in that room, which dennis has outlined, was that by the end of march, greg would be compliant. greg committed to that, and mr. paul committed to that. we talked about it. everybody in the room. so end of march comes by. we do a sound check. guess what, he's not compliant. he hasn't done much. so then we have sound check done at the end of april. then another one done at the begin

inspector dufty did make one point that i was going to make. the notice of reference does not reference the washing machines at all. if they would like to have department of building inspection do another inspection, maybe we end up here with a notice of violation that actually deals with the washing machines, but we do not have that issue in front of the board right now. instead, the issue we have right now is a notice of violation for repairs to the deck, and once again, it is very, very difficult for these tenants to end up in a scenario in which they are not in front of this board or in front of the rent board when they do not have an answer from their landlord about what he is intending to do. they have not got an answer. i personally have written a reasonable accommodation letter on behalf of sherida ireton and sheriann ireton over one month ago. he has never responded. these are separate issues but a pattern of practice which has brought us here. once again, the narrow issue is that the opponents would like the board to preserve their lo

as supervisor weiner has indicated, he and i, along with former supervisor dufty, have met with target and community leaders to discuss how target can frankly make amends to the lgbt community. i hope target continues to engage in those discussions, irrespective of what is approved by this board or the planning commission. for a target like corporation to be successful in a place like san francisco, it has to be sensitive to the values we hold dear as a city, protecting and respecting the rights of all people. we look forward to continuing to work with target in that effort. i also want to acknowledge the work of a supervisor -- of supervisor farrell, who has gone out of his way to bring people to the table. i think it is also important that we in the lgbt community become involved. at the end of the day, nothing is going to happen unless that involvement takes place. thank you. supervisor mirkarimi: thank you to supervisor farrell, and i agree with supervisors weiner and campos on the larger issues. on practical issues, this building is also on the border of district 5. for about 16 m
