greg, you were the first to get an interview with jaycee dugard's aunt tina dugard. this is important to understand what they're going through and what they're thinking. first off i want to ask, it's been told that when we talk about jaycee dugard, she worked in the business. she had a lot of interface with customers, even e-mailing them, and had chances, it appears, to run. did her aunt indicate as to why she didn't? >> no, she didn't. unfortunately, the aunt would not discuss anything that had to do with the conditions in which she lived or anything that could possibly affect the ongoing criminal investigation. she spoke in general terms. that's the big mystery. it's like -- and her girls, jaycee's girls, as we know, according to tina, had access to the internet, which raises similar questions. well, you know, they had access to the outside world. >> did you get any sense in terms from her aunt in which she was speaking with, with her niece as to whether jaycee had sympathy for her captor, any indications in that space? >> you know, again, any questions directly re

jaycee dugard, -- like jaycee dugard, one of the girls was just nine years old when she was wiped out of the supermarket in the bay area city of hayworth in 1988. the other was kidnapped when she was walking out of school in a bay area town not far from antioch. in all three cases, the girls were snatched off -- snatched from a public place and placed in a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle recently towed from garrido's house. garrido had recently been released on parole, and police believe he was in the area at the time, living in a halfway house. shepard: there was a better description of the abductor in one of the cases, right? >> right. a sketch in 1988 does have resemblances to photographs of phillip garrido at the time. long hair, deep-set eyes. but police say that adding this all up, it is probably the strongest evidence that ever has come in. the search could last through the weekend. investigators from half a dozen law enforcement agencies are coming through garrido's property and the property next door with both cases in mind. they say they could tear down struc
