dick durbin blasted the $11.4 billion deal. he said today how disappointed he is in, quote, burger king's decision to renounce it's american citizenship. billionaire investor warren buffet whose company is financing part of the deal is now in damage control over the tax breaks that burger king will get by becoming a canadian company. buffet, as you recall, is famous for calling on america's wealthy to pay their fair share to your honor sam. his participation in this deal puts him in a #wal #awkward position. burger king is the latest of a company who purchases a foreign firm and then moves into its headquarters. they continue to operate in america but by doing so they take advantage of lower tax rates outside of the united states. burger king denies that this deal is about denying uncle sam it's due. it says he's merging with tim horton because it's opening new business vistas for the company. still inversions let companies transfer money that is made outside of the united states to the parent company without paying additional

neil: hadley, this is interesting, not all politicians are liking this, dick durbin in illinois saying wait a minute, so they're going to give pause to this, where is this going? >> whether or not warren buffett wanted to thrust himself back into a u.s. tax policy debate he has by participating in the deal. it should be an opportunity, neil, to have conversation about america's corporate tax rate which is the highest in the world at 40%. canada about 26%. not a surprise that tim hortons wants to stay in canada, they're a canadian brand and should ask whether other u.s. corporations have incentives to move overseas or new corporations have the incentive to incorporate in the united states. we have a lot to offer in terms of stability and great justice system, the tax rate is detrimental to corporations who have to pay the full rate. neil: read between the lines and bk saying it has no intention right now to leave the united states, and i'm wondering does that mean down the road it would? >> they could be buying time, there was a lot of hostility by burger king fans on the website it loo
