the cyclist pronounced dead at the scene. 21-year-old dylan mitchell was the cyclist, and his familys here now to talk about the young man whose life was tragically cut short, and visiting with us from clayton is julie minutchel his mom, and his brothers. julia, starting with you. you to you told me before we started the segment, your son just moved there and started a new job. he rode his bicycle. he was riding it to work? >> he got into the electrical apprenticeship program. he had been in it for three months and was tired of the commute, so he had moved to san francisco a week before, and was riding his bicycle to work. >> riding a bicycle never had a problem before for him, right? >> no. he used to ride his bike in clayton to work too. >> tell me what you remember about your brother? >> he was always really nice, and, yeah, his personality was great, always fun. >> dusty, what do you remember about your brother? any stories you want to share with us? >> he was a great athlete. he took me to wrestling practice when i was in 4th grade and he was in high school. he was just really f

hey, dylan, good evening. >> reporter: good evening, brian. the snow falling right now has nothing to do with lake effect. it's just a disturbance moving through. but lake effect snow is such a fascinating phenomenon to produce this much snow in just 24 hours. take a look at the radar from the height of this storm yesterday where we saw these streamers come in. and they pass over the same area for hours and hours and hours producing snowfall rates of four inches per hour. but then a shift in the wind and the whole thing lifts north. now, we are going to see tonight winds shift back to more of an onshore flow. it's going to turn on the lake effect snow machine once again. we're going to see it start around 11:00 tonight and last for about 18 hours producing heavy snow. and where the streamers set up that produce the heaviest snow we could see another three feet fall. and it looks like this area could be the area where we see the three feet, brian. >> dylan dreyer in hamburg, new york. remains an incredible situation up there. >>> now to washing

dylan dreyer is in bangor. good evening, dylan. >> reporter: good evening, lester. it is not unusual to see snow in november. this is maine. but this is more typical of late december. this is part of a prewinter storm that has wreaked havoc up and down the east coast. maine is looking more like december than the middle of autumn. the snow began falling just as daylight saving time was ending and it is still going strong. piling up on roads and reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile in some areas. >> it would never have occurred to me to put my snow tires on before november 22nd. >> reporter: the temperature has been hovering around 33 degree and that means the water content is high and so this is a heavy, wet, snow that puts tremendous pressure on the trees and power lines. >> and not to mention people's patience. >> about every hour, every time you come out it is like you haven't been out at all. you can't tell where you stopped or ended last time. >> reporter: by tonight some areas will see a foot of snow. snow blanketed the home of the new england patrio
