for more on what we can expect, let's bring in meterologist dylan dreyer. dylan, good evening to you. >> good evening, carl. there are a lot of storms out there right now. we have a tornado watch in effect across the southeast. we also have a severe thunderstorm watch in the southern plains moving into the midwest. that's really an area we need to focus on over the course of the next several hours. that area in orange including most of arkansas, parts of western tennessee, this is where we could see wind gusts up near 65 miles per hour. very large hail and we also can't rule out an isolated tornado. now, tomorrow this threat is going to spread to the east. we'll see heavy rain in the morning. then we're going to see a line of potentially strong storms develop through the afternoon and evening from philadelphia right down through most of florida, again, we're looking at very large hail, damaging wind gusts and also an isolated tornado although the threat of tornados is much less for tomorrow but we have to watch out for heavy downpours. we have some flood wat

our meteorologist dylan dreyer is in our studio in new york. dylan, what's the latest? >> lester, we have had reports in kansas and missouri of hail the size of baseballs, even grapefruit size hail being reported. storms are developing right along this frontal boundary. this is the separation between temperatures in the 70s and 80s and to the north of it like in omaha temperatures are only in the 40s. and it's right along this front as we go through the night past midnight into the early morning hours on thursday where we will still see the threat of very strong storms. we'll get a brief breakthrough mid-morning on thursday. then they re-fire up thursday afternoon into thursday evening. so tonight we are looking at our biggest threat especially back through parts of tulsa, oklahoma into southern indiana. that's where we could see, again, hail about three inches in diameter. also wind gusts up near 75 miles per hour. and tornadoes possible. those same threats are in the forecast on thursday too, but in a much larger area from texas all the way up into the great lakes thr

meteorologist dylan dreyer is with us. >> right now the southern plains where we're seeing most of our activity. we have a tornado watch in red here but we also have several severe thunderstorm watches popping up in yellow. the biggest threat tonight will be for damaging wind gusts up near 65 miles per hour. also some very large hail. tomorrow the threat is going to shift a little further into southern texas. you can't rule out a tornado, but we're still looking at our main threat as being of large hail and damaging wind gusts. over in the rockies, the concern has been the snow. take a look at denver where the snow plows are out once again. and on i-70 just west of denver slippery roads causing accidents. in the colorado rockies baseball stadium, we were seeing that covered with snow because of the snowfall that we had in that area that we are looking at about 48 -- over the next 48 hours an additional 18 to 24 inches of snow. but the concern will be for the highest elevations. this is mainly for the ski resorts. we should see just an additional inch or so in denver. >> dylan, thank yo
