nbc meteorologist dylan dreyer is tracking it for us, who is in the thick of it now? >> reporter: good evening, lester. most of the country will see temperatures that are very much above average. currently 120 million people are under some sort of heat watch, heat advisory or heat warning and it's not just the warm temperatures, it's the exceptional humidity. tomorrow to put this into perspective, 240 million people will have that feels like temperature above 90. 88 million people will be feeling like it's above 100 degrees. high temperatures from the midwest to the great lakes to the northeast, southeast, wrapping around down south will be in the mid-90s on saturday feeling like 100 to 110 and sunday more of the same and as we go into next week, temperatures will be staying well above average with your feels like temperature around 100 to 110 through at least the fourth of july. this is a long haul sort of event. you want to stay hydrated and check on the elderly and remember it's hot for pets, too, and stay indoors whenever you can because it will be brutal for a ve
