first the defense cross-examined an fbi cyber expert about what the feds found on dzokhar tsarnaev's mott remains in boston covering the trial for us. ron? >> reporter: hey there, abby. we believe, from the guidance from the prosecution and the government, they are in the home stretch in their prosecution and in their presentation of this case. they started the day with the fbi cyber expert who actually began his testimony last week going over copious amounts of electronic digital evidence that they are saying that shows that dzokhar tsarnaev was a jihadist or thought of him as a jihadist going back three or four years. perhaps two years -- as long as two years before the bombing itself. the defense has maintained that his brother tamerlan was the mastermind behind the plot and roped his younger brother into the plot to injure and kill people at the boston marathon. and we learned about a text exchange between dzokhar and a college friend of his. this is a few days after the bombing. the friend sent him a text message asking him if he was watching the news after the fbi press confere

david hennen bury was the gentleman who owned the boat that dzokhar tsarnaev was found in that friday night after the marathon bombing and he and his wife were sheltering in place as most around the metropolitan area were told to do. so once that cleared he went out and found a couple of things by his boat that didn't look like but he wasn't thinking and he steps up on a ladder and sees some blood and he peaked into a bod and he saw a body and dark pants and a hooded sweatshirt and quickly went down and went inside and that is how they were able to close in on dzokhar tsarnaev and take him into custody. and they heard from a classmate, stephan silva, who pled guilty to drug and weapons possessions in december to testify against his former friend. a ruger 9mm used to kill the m.i.t. police officer that was his and dzokhar tsarnaev borrowed it, according to the witness, that he wanted to go rob some university of rhode island students in a drug deal. but when the friend asked for the gun back mr. silva asked for the gun back two or three weeks back dzokhar gave him excuses why he couldn

dzokhar takes off before the second blast. more images captured the younger tsarnaev darting away as victims lay scattered and bleeding. among them jessica kinsky. she was watching the race with her husband. i was focused on my husband next to me. his foot was detached. a man came over as i was trying to fumble and put a tourniquit on patrick. jurors heard from the close friend of lindsey lei. cried on the stand as she described how she had to clutch her organs following the blast. she did not find out for days that her friend passed away. everybody knew that earlier, but they did not tell me because they were trying to protect me she said. wiping her eyes. as boston grieved. dzokhar went about his daily life. tape shows him calmly buying milk at a whole foods store in cambridge. the next day, more video captured him visiting his university gym. prosecutors also presented a series of tweets taken from dzhokhar tsarnaev to twitter accounts. he talked about the glories of martyrdom and expecting to die young. on the tweet the day after the bombings, he bragged about bei
