luis soares is head of e.m. equities for blackrock and joins us live from new york city.ou. welcome to the show. >> glad to be here. >> what do you like in emerging markets and why do you think they've underperformed the way they have? >> well, in a world that has been on the defensive for the last five or so years, the flows have been going to u.s. treasuries. but i do think that basically in emerging markets, you have a strong consumer. if you look at gdp results from china last week, you saw that there was a lot of discussion the average investor has less than 5% allocation to emerging markets, which represents roughly 13.5% of global indexes. so if you give it a medium to longer-term view, we believe that it's an asset class that offers great opportunities. >> what's your favorite e.m. right now? >> right now, we are overweight mexico, india and brazil. i would say that the highest conviction right now is probably india because with the selloff in commodities, which we believe it's going to remain at these levels for now, it really gives them breathing room where the
