here's 7's jennifer eagan in dorchester. jen, how is it going there? >> jennifer: christa, so far so good. the cold weather, as you know, has been a problem for the mbta in the past, both here on the red line on the commuter rail as well. overnight to try and combat the problem and get ahead of any potential problems, the "t" was running empty trains on at least some of the lines. we spotted an emmy train running on the red line. on one of our last very cold mornings, the "t" had a couple of major problems that the state's transportation secretary attributed to freezing back on january 5th, a commuter rail train went off the tracks between andover and lawrence. no passengers were on board. no one was hurt. but it happened around 4:00 a.m. and affected the commute for much of the day. also that same day, here on the red line, the track broke by a stop in savin hill. again, both cases blamed on the cold. again, overnight the "t" has been running empty trains on at least some of the tracks to try and get ahead of any potential problems because of the bitt
