this was the eagle, he also did a portrait. i spent a lot of time trying to establish his profile so we could go from there. so this is early stages. back to the three quarter again. now, this is a portrait of washington. i mentioned earlier that i thought -- this is my own personal opinion -- that washington does wear a lot of resemblance to the head of monroe. and if you cover up with your fingers both of those sides you can sort of look at it and see it a little bit. i was often wondering why do they so prominently show monroe's ears all the time? you notice every portrait you see monroe's ears all the time. and we see that portrait of a him as a young man when he's wearing this style of hair and it almost doesn't look like money wroe. so my theory is that they always did this to distinguish -- especially stewart. gilbert stewart knew both heads very well. to distinguish between them. here you can see the usually treatment where they have the ear exposed. he may have had unusually protrubiskierant ears, i don't know. anyways
