let's get to eamon javers live in d.c. with more on both. >> that's right.k at the negotiating table over nafta today. last week those negotiations had sort of broken down and they agreed to continue talking through the week this week now that the united states has kicked in a 90-daytime clock on beginning the process on capitol hill that means the new deadline is sort of around october 1st for actual talks to include canada into the bilateral agreement set up on the side between the united states and mexico the canadian prime minister, justin trudeau not signaling a lot of flexibility in the lead up to the negotiations here's what he said just yesterday. there are a number of things we must see in a renegotiated nafta. no nafta is better than a bad nafta deal for canadians so the canadian prime minister there signaling that he will hold the line on some of his demands including supply management, which is sort of the canadian version of farm subsidies based on controlling the supply overall of commodities that are produced. that's one thing that's an area o

>> i'm melissa lee we begin with breaking news out of d.c eamon javers is at the white house with theght "the new york times" posted a new story, here's the essence of the reporting from the "new york times" they are suggesting that the deputy attorney general rod rosenstein discussed with officials back in 2017 the possibility of wearing a wire to record president trump and get a sense of what was going on inside the administration and rosenstein discussed the possibility with other officials of recruiting senior administration officials for an effort to invoke the 25th amendment to be used under the constitution to remove the president of the united states it appears from the "new york times" reporting that neither of these things actually happened these were discussions that were considered and according to the "times" did not go forward "the new york times" posted a statement from rod rosenstein -- remember rosenstein is the official leading the russia investigation because the attorney general jeff sessions hasrecused himself take a look here at the statement from rod rosenstein
