this is go to impact thousands of people and thousands of earbuds. good morning. >> good morning to you. yes, it's going to impact a lot of people who live near the caltrain stations here in san  carlos, but in order to reduce noise impacts, it's going to be noisy at night, at least in the short term. caltranwill begin this project starting tonight using a rail mounted industrial sized grinder to smooth out defects along the rail. this will hopefully reduce noise in the area as well as make rides smoother for the passengers. they're going to start at the san francisco caltrain station tonight, working down the peninsula before ending in the south bay. the equipment will be used between 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. when there is limited train service. it could make for noisy nights if you live near the tracks. the work is expected to take up to three weeks, wrapping up may 19th. we'll talk more about the impacts to folks who live around the caltrain stations in the next hour. live in san carlos, pete suratos. >> stick with us, pete. thank you. >>> 4:33.
