well not that the amelia earhart, this amelia earhart, amelia rose earhart of colorado, the former weather and traffic reporter at our fellow nbc news station used to be embarrassed when people kept asking her about whether she was a pilot, they'd follow up with would she fly around the world like the original amelia earhart? she eventually said why not. she was ten years experience as a pilot will recreate the flight around the world that her name stake attempted 77 years ago from here. it's a 28,000 mile trip, but as you know, the pioneer disappeared in 1937 over the pacific ocean. today's amelia was asked by her friends whether she'd be afraid about her trip ending badly, but she has a way to calm the butterflies. ask her why she's doing this, amelia says she wants to honor amelia earhart and her legacy and support women in aviation. she also has a foundation that puts women through flight school. modern day amelia though will have a co-pilot this time, shane jordan with her. they expect the trip to take between three weeks and one month. that'll be 17 stops in 14 countries. live in oak
