east, even if the only economic at this time. is that global june political competition relevant in the middle east? >> master, thanks. let's take a look at what russia is doing in the middle east right now. it is certainly not a force for good. it's meddling in regional conflicts and look what it has been doing in syria it kept the murder and power. it has been very unhelpful in libya, i just all press reports as amusing russia equipment, advisors, and march on tripoli. that is not helpful. i cannot imagine that if you are a citizen in any country in the region they look at russia as a model for good. i think it is destabilizing, unhelpful, i think one of the largest areas of concern is the issue of military sales. we see partners turning to russia for equipment including outside the region. the issue of trickiest purchases. focus on the hill have concerned about that. we have been engaged in key partners about the risk that they face if they pursue russian military sales. i would argue that it's not in their interest to do that

in europe, east asia in the middle east. and it has returned because three important countries, one in each of the regions has embarked on policy designed to give it dominance in the region using force. in europe, russia invaded and occupied ukraine. in east asia, china has claimed virtually all of the western pacific contrary to international law, has built artificial islands in the western pacific and has installed military facilities on them. and in the middle east, i run has paramilitary groups who expand and influence throughout the region and has pursued nuclear weapons. now, the heart of the rise and fall of peace on earth is three chapters that describe and explain how and why peace came and disappeared from each of these three regions. it is a complicated story in each case. but all three cases have one thing in common. for each of these countries that have disturbed the peace, the aggressive foreign-policy that ended the piece had a domestic cause. each of the three governments is a dictatorship. so each of them de

the one problem i would raise is the middle east is one area, they have -- from the middle east.the indian army, liberated the middle east and their indian war senators all over. there is a historic stake in that region of the world and particularly worried about china's encroachment into the bay of bengal, its cooperation with pakistan and that is why india is working with iran to develop a big base that offsets, the china has built for pakistan. the chinese face a problem and sooner or later india may start flexing its muscle and something they have to worry about, they have to worry about china, japan playing a stronger role in the east china seas. they didn't have a free ride. not particularly popular. i didn't worry about russia or china at this moment to the point that i see something vital or strategic. >> a few quick thoughts. on china these are countries that need capital fusions and rebuilding and america is not offering either of those things, would be wise to let that happen and even if in some cases creates chinese influence, we have to comfortable with a little bit
