in east anglia and south—east of the channel islands, it may take until maybe late afternoon to see any but for all, temperatures actually dropping relative to this morning. around 5—11 c through the afternoon. the strong winds in the south will start to ease a little bit, but they will pick up across some parts of northern ireland and south—west scotland, and we could see gusts of a0 to 50 mph here, if not a bit more, to end the day and to go into the night. and it's here where as winds start to go more northerly, it will bring rain into more sleet and snow territory across parts of northern scotland. and this band of rain — across northern ireland, into northern england and, eventually, north wales — will have some sleet and snow in the hills as well. north of it, the risk of frost and certainly some ice. all of us, a colder night than last night. so, as we go into sunday, a change is afoot. colder weather for all. the real coldest air — the darker blue colours here — waiting in the wings to push their way southwards through sunday night and into monday. it's to the north of this zone

also the possibility of some mist and fog in the midlands, west country, possibly east anglia as wellthen, for wednesday. here's that weather front as it moves from the north southwards, perhaps reaching northern wales, the peak district, early in the afternoon — lincolnshire, too. behind it, the skies actually clear, so some sunshine later in the day for belfastjust before sunset. belfast, glasgow, ten degrees here. then notice that weather front sinks southwards and there will be some rain towards the rush hour, i think, in the south of the country, and then eventually clearing the kent coast late wednesday evening. thursday, we've got an area of high pressure building across the uk nosing in, and that spells a lot of sunny weather — it really is going to be a fine day for many of us on thursday. a little on the cool side, i think, on the north sea coast, so with that northerly breeze, perhaps one or two showers, i think beautiful weather out towards the west and those temperatures close to the norm for the time of the year — around nine in belfast, not far off that elsewhere across

some lingering fog patches across parts of east anglia and the southeast.uthwards and eastwards, but a lot more cloud in northern and western england and temperatures struggling to lift up here. but a very mild day for northern ireland and western scotland. it should brighten up relatively in the morning, but further outbreaks of rain, southern scotland and also edging into irish sea coasts. we do it all again on monday. similar sort of weather pattern. the mildest air running around the northern edge of this area of high pressure. some wetter conditions at times on monday in the north of scotland with that breeze. still potential around these irish sea coasts. some patchy rain or drizzle, but some sunny spells to the south and east of england where the fog clears. and some of that fog will linger, just two or three degrees through parts of east anglia, 10—11 celsius again to the north and the west of the country. the pattern really doesn't shift into tuesday. it is this weather front which could bring slight changes into the second half of the week, but fo
