shoreline as those showers are making its way inland into the east bay valleys. we are tracking moderate downpours there because of a cell that has formed and also near and just to the north and east of yacht. bill. that's restarting to notice the most active weather pattern. but showers off the coast making its way inland right now. and right now we are seeing some breaks in that cloud cover a little bit of sunshine making its way through downtown san francisco 52 degrees. but take a look at santa rosa only at 49 degrees as that cold front is passing their widespread low to mid 50's for everyone else in the bay area. but gusty winds also going to be associated with this fast moving storm sustained winds for solano county 20 to 30 miles per hour gusts upwards of 50 miles per hour expected throughout today and through tonight when that wind advisory expires. but widespread 20 mile per hour wind speeds out of the south for downtown san francisco nevado napa and even oakland seeing some of the gusty east winds at 23 miles per hour sustained winds mid to upper 40's.

let's get a look at your wet commute as you're heading from the east bay into the city.light. you still have a number of accidents issues out there. there is an accident on the san mateo bridge. 92 westbound at the high rise still so you're looking at about a 25 minute drive for you this morning in the south bay to 80 northbound south of lee avenue. and you have an accident there scene at this hour. another one along a northbound 8th avenue. richmond center fell bridge traveling across out of richmond about a 40 minute drive because of the wet conditions and the golden gate bridge. i'd say about 25 minutes because you want to take your time and drive slow because conditions are slick all right. and if you're going to be on the roads and be on the bay area and flying. well, you're going to be looking at delays. >> and cancellations, at least if you're going to sfo, it's messy out there. exactly. we're talking about how many delays we've been tracking that. okay. daria, last time we checked. i remember it was in the 20's. yeah. now, look, it. 35 delays at sfo and 11 cancel

then works its way down to the golden gate, the peninsula, and east bay right around noon. from there it works down through the south bay during the first half of the day. you see a green blip that pop up with yellow bull's-eyes on them. tomorrow afternoon, the bull's- eyes are where we can potentially see an isolated thunderstorm pop up. there will not be a lot of them, but if you get one right over you, it is a good show. you can hear some center off in the distance, and that is possible on saturday. the main event is really the morning rain that comes through between 8:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon. then we get a bit of snow on mt. hamilton. you can see the small white bull's-eye for tomorrow night. snow on christmas night, and it won't be much. just enough for pretty pictures. as far as rainfall totals, they are not big. this isn't a soaker, but enough that we do have to deal with rain on christmas day hearing tomorrow morning, the lows are only the mid-40s for most of us, and in the daytime highs don't change a whole lot. we go back up into the mid-50s tomorrow for the d

we're still in the highest level of drought in the east bay down to the south bay. this just kind of shows that even with heavy rain, it's going to take years to dig out of this hole because it did take us years to get into this extreme drought we're seeing right now. but every little bit of rain helps. it looks like we could take a break by later on this morning into the afternoon. there will be times you can head out and get some things done outside. we're also going to see at times scattered showers, but the next round of rain comes in this evening, tomorrow into the afternoon. for saturday, christmas day, it looks pretty widespread with more rain coming in. once again, we've been talking about how long this is going to continue. overall expect morning heavy rain, the chance of some thunderstorms and maybe even small hail. by this afternoon, the rain becomes a lot more scattered. rainfall totals still looking like an inch and a half to 3 inches. sierra snow still looking like 4 to 8 feet. that's going to really get going here now that we're seeing snow levels dro

but much improved exceptional drought for parts of the east bay and central valley extreme drought red for a lot of the rest of the bay area. this week. did the biggest impact that we've seen all season long and look at where we're sitting. it's still not a great situation. mind you, but exceptional drought room that you once saw has now retreated just a very small sliver of northern california, extreme drought in red for much of the central valley in the east bay in severe drought having returned to the rest of the bay area in orange kind of sad that we're talking about. severe drought is being such a good thing. but this is a huge step forward. obviously we need to take yet another giant step in order to see even more improvements in the 2022 so hope and the year comes through for us december and even october of this past fall and winter start have definitely been helpful now we are dry across the bay in the sierra southern california, not so much snow in. that a hatchet be passing grapevine areas. also looking at some heavy rainfall around l a bay area our chance to get back outside
