developing news in the east bay.irefighters are still monitoring the scene of a massive fire in oakland. this e t at a lumber supply st off of 880. the flames and smoke prompting traffic delays and air quality concerns for people in that area. abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez is tracking that for us. and gloria, no one was hurt here. yes. >> very good news, reggie. and at last check, firefighters were still putting out hot spots and figuring out the cause of the fire. big plumes of smoke could be seen in east oakland last night. the fire started around 7:45 p.m. yesterday at economy lumber company on high street near interstate 80, and people driving by could see it from the freeway. more than 75 firefighters responded. the oakland fire battalion chief says they initially faced access issues because of the train tracks there, and rail service was stopped temporarily. some roads around the area were also blocked off after the fire broke out. >> upon arrival, they found heavy fire making its way and impinging i

in the east bay. man has been sentenced to house arrest for shutting down the computer network of the discovery bay water treatment facility back in 2021. prosecutors from the department of justice say that rambler gallo, purposefully and installed some software from that computer network, which is the system that runs the automated monitoring for that or for the entire water treatment system. they say he admitted to remotely remotely accessing that system from his personal computer after he resigned from a company that was working with discovery bay. he's now cents to 6 months of house arrest. he had to forfeit his computer and he has to pay more than $44,000. now in restitution. >> time now 7.26. and coming up next on the kron, 4 morning news, a tribute 2 vietnamese heritage in san jose. re imagine garden that they just imagine garden that they just broke ground on. part of nuisance plan to improve public safety in the east bay. taking a live look at the oakland coliseum. and there's some big news to break today. oakland has finalized a deal. to sell its share of the property to the african american sports and entertainment group for at least 105 0. 0. the move ends decades of city ownership and aims to bolster oakland's finances and pave the way for a potential $5 0. redevelopment project. speed camera is on the way to the san jose street landscape. city officials announcing the cameras you see her on your screen will go into place late next year, 33 cameras will be placed in high collision areas to try to cut down on those numbers, all part of a state bill authorizing 6 cities across california. launch of 5 year pilot program involving these cameras. san francisco it is also 1 of the 6 cities participating in the program, the city, says 33 cameras will go up in san francisco. by late this year. now for a look across the bay this morning. good morning, everybody at 902 am this is the scene from oakland. the

crossing highway one back westward, offshore, all the rain is filling in to the east bay. le getting some wet weather now and closer in you can see the light rain down through palo alto, fremont, half moon bay, and as we get into livermore, not a whole lot going on, but it's going to take throughout the afternoon for the front to clear the east bay and south bay. there's a look at all the rain offshore here. so as we head out to the oakland airport had a few light showers. it is cloudy out there right now where temperatures are in the low 50s. 52 at half moon bay, 58 in hayward, with those breezy south winds keeping it mild. 53 here in santa cruz with highs just in the mid 50s. over a half inch of rain expected at the beach, 55 by the delta and about a half inch there. we could see an inch down by ben loman. there's a look at the winds picking up from napa to santa rosa, up to 20 miles an hour, and from our exploratorium camera, a rainy start, much colder throughout the day today at chilly. start for your sunday and monday, then we get into mild to above average readings by

and then as we head through 9 a.m, it's over the east bay and peninsula. notice the yellow and orange. those are some heavy downpours. we'll see with this storm system. and by 11:00 in the morning it's down to the south bay. but at the same time, we're still hanging on to that rain up into the north bay. will eventually see this. get on out of here as we head through tomorrow afternoon and evening. rain totals. impressive because of that heavy zone of rain we're expecting right now to hold up all the way through the bay area. we'll see totals anywhere from a half to three quarters for lower elevations. but look at this area in red here. that's where our mountains could get in on one inch of rainfall. so a pretty strong hit here for may coming our way for tomorrow. sierra snow may actually close roads. we're looking at totals at the highest elevations. 21in kingvale, 20 in kirkwood, four inches there in pollock pines. with those snow levels starting around pollock pines. so this is going to be a lot of snow in about ten hours. so that's why we may see those
