we have a wind, a heat advisory for the east bay and up in the north bay not included the east bay shorelinesolano county. you have an excessive heat warning this through thursday night. the current readings are still holding above 100 places like brentwood looks like 102, for fairfield. 94 for pittsburgh with the east bay shoreline in the 70's with 90's. meanwhile, up towards the north, that is well above where the numbers were this time from yesterday by some 24 degrees. napa. 22 degrees for livermore and 23 degrees ahead for novato. so haven't seen this happen too often. not going to say it's never happened. but this is a big, big jump from 24 hours ago and with no fronts or anything passing. here's a look at the current winds as we speak onshore again. it deposits some of that marine layer well inland and you heat it up. well, it's a little sticky and gave me a bit for those inland spots there. sorry. but it does help with combating fires. this, by the way, is the longer range forecast for you as the high pressure starts to build breaks down a little bit as we head into the weekend and w

the east bay times reports the victim was a pregnant woman in her early 20s. she was one of four people shot on pennsylvania avenue in the iron triangle area at 415 yesterday afternoon. another victim died from their injuries and just after midnight this morning, there was another fatal shooting on kelsey street. police are investigating whether the shootings are connected. >> new details now on the deadly shooting of a cvs security guard in fremont last thursday, the alameda county coroner identified the security guard as 41 year old mohammed amin. police say amin and another person were arguing in the store when things got violent. amin was shot and killed. the other person was stabbed several times but did survive. amin lived in sacramento. the cvs store was closed temporarily, but has since reopened. >> coming up, here's a live look at the conditions right now as we continue to track wildfires burning in the north bay and the effect of air quality here at home. we'll check in with mete in sonoma county. that fire started last sunday and is charred just mor

i'm going to bring you updates as we get them in the east bay. firefighters continue to battle that massive wildfire near tracee that has scorched 14,000 acres. we're going to take you live there in just a moment. but first, hundreds of people waiting in lines at the mexican consulate in san jose. they want to cast ballots in the historic mexico presidential election. yeah. the polls closed an hour ago. and as nbc bay area's marianne favro reports, tensions ran high as hundreds who wanted to vote were turned away. marianne right at 5:00, the doors to the consulate closed and no one else was allowed to vote. and hundreds of people were very mad because some of them had waited more than nine hours to cast their ballots. when the doors to the voting center closed, tensions increase, with people chanting and pounding on the door. more than 300 people who wanted to vote were turned away. the line had wrapped around the building, with hundreds standing under umbrellas to get relief from the heat. we talked with one woman who had been in line since 730

our daytime highs today are hitting the 90s and triple digits once again all throughout our inland east bay up into the north bay and for our friends in the solano county area under a heat warning until thursday, that's a group with the sacramento valley. with some of the warmest temperatures we've seen so far this year. now as we head over to our virtual reality map, look at the contrast of these temperatures. we're still holding on tight to 70s and 60s, anywhere from half moon bay all the way over into san francisco. but that's not the case. this has as we head off into the east bay. triple digits expected for us this afternoon near concord, any ox retching all the way down into livermore to with 90s this afternoon near the santa clara valley. now we talk about these numbers because it's important to remind yourself and your loved ones to drink lots of water, and we're plenty of sunscreen on a day like today, especially if we have loved ones who work outside. it is going to be a hot day for us today if you do work outside find that shady spot, especially in the afternoon hours, while thos

kathy, what's going well, it's warm conditions in the east bay. it was warm but not as warm as it was yesterday. >> believe it or not, we're starting a warming. a cooling trend after today's warm temperatures. so let's take a look at what's going on right now. look at the golden gate bridge. if you can see it, it's kind of obscure. now is the fog starts to move in our direction that marine layer pouring right through the golden gate. so that is a harbinger of things to come. temperatures at this hour. cool, as you might expect with all that great at the coastline. 55 in half moon bay. 61 degrees in san francisco holding on to much warmer conditions in places in the east bay, such as livermore. 83 degrees. santa rosa right now is 74. so we've got what's going on here some very beautiful temperatures for tomorrow, but then much cooler. these are seasonable what you might expect for this time of year numbers in the upper 70's to low 80's in many places in the east bay, mid 80's in santa rosa right along the coast. numbers in the 50's. so we're in for

somewhere some clouds and some sunshine it's off just from our mount diablo cam overlooking the east bay covering the bay shoreline and continue to see that in the next couple of hours. the marine layer slowly pulls back along the coast and we'll see cloudier skies near half-moon bay and pacifica and san francisco and sunnier conditions in the 2:00 hour in the east bay. now other than that, reed mentioned it too. windy conditions expected as we head into this afternoon. by about ten degrees gustier than where we were at just yesterday as we head in the afternoon hours. so this is what it's looking like by 10:00 and by 3:00. about 30-mile-per-hour wind gusts just along the shoreline. about 20-mile-per-hour winds in our inland areas. it's staying consistent as we head in the overnight hours tonight and match that with some cool and cloudy conditions along the coast. only 60s today near san francisco and 60s into oakland across the bay bridge. ten degrees cooler where we were just two days ago in antioch and livermore with 80s in sight through the east bay. wine country this afternoon in th

we start in the east bay.likely recognize where this is. it's right in front of the grand lake theater. you can see the fireworks that were involved, the sideshows in the east bay stretch from emeryville to oakland and south to san leandro . and look at this fiery scene in san francisco as a sideshow led to a car engulfed in flames along the embarcadero. this sideshow happened just after 2 a.m. sunday, right next door to the iconic ferry building. police say it started to break up once officers got there. it's unclear just how long that car was on fire. graffiti could be seen on the side of the pier. one lot, which is right next door to the ferry building and the area where the sideshow happened. a second sideshow occurred at valencia and cesar chavez street in san francisco in the mission district. police responded, but they say that no one was arrested. >> new details about a large brawl where a person was shot and killed at lake berryessa in napa county, and three other people were stabbed. it broke out aro

in the east bay. police in richmond have arrested a church volunteer accused of rape according to officers. miguel villalobos was accused is accused brother of assaulting a victim during a music lesson at sacred nearly as church. police say villalobos was the music director. the victim told officers the alleged abuse began when she was a minor. they continued for several years. police believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. anyone with information is please ask to get in touch with richmond police. urgent care service has been approved for coastal san mateo county residents, south of pacifica who lost their emergency facility after storm damage this year. san mateo supervisors unanimously approved a resolution tuesday granting nearly $500,000 to dignity health medical foundation for a 6 month program district. 3 supervisor ray mueller said the contract was reached to quickly and while it isn't perfect, it does satisfy immediate public medical needs. he says. and affordable hou

as you take a look at san francisco east bay hills cent and a half moon bay tech mount tamalpais a scam golden gate bridge. clear skies, beautiful conditions. things are going to change. we have a bit of a roller coaster going on. temperatures right now as warm as 90 degrees conquers holding on to last 90 89. now in antioch, 68 for oakland at 77 degrees in santa rosa. and yes, a little bit of fog is now starting to form just down the coastline night. stay around, monterey or arena. looking for fog there. here's what's happening. let me step out of the way. keep an eye on that area of high pressure. it's a little bit of ways. it's pulling away from the coast. well, that's the wrong direction. but that makes for a cooler weekend, even as low pressure moves to our north, look at the high moving all the way to left and then it makes its move on us as it starts to head in toward tuesday, wednesday, thursday, high pressure is in command. that is a very hot forecast for us. but not tomorrow. temperatures tomorrow 50's 60's along the coast. beautiful conditions down like cool compared to today.

i like it this morning, we'll take you to our east bay hills camera.ut there this morning in numerous cities, but we are in store for a warm afternoon, so we'll look inland where we do have clear skies from the get go. right now, we'll have afternoon temperatures upper 80s, lower 90s around the bay shoreline. we have that cloud cover breaking for sunshine close to 9 a.m, and temperatures will go into the 70s, if not low 80s in some spots along the coast. we do have some thick clouds. we'll get a peak here of some sunshine around noon and highs in the low 60s, so it's sunny. warmer than yesterday. a little breezy this afternoon. the south bay will go into the 80s 87 cupertino 86, in san jose, 87, in morgan hill, heading up the peninsula. the coast will see temperatures in the 60s, but sunny and warmer for san mateo at 7678. in palo alto, now the western half of the city will stay in the 60s, the eastern half will downtown in the mission. the castro will go into the low 70s for daytime highs in the north bay. it is warm, if not some hotter cities like cl

so here's a live look over the east bay. he clouds to roll in over by the qos to typical warm weather set up. we have here in the bay area. so here's the air quality forecast. southern california has very unhealthy air. there's a big wildfire out there a little closer to the bay area. so we stu still see some pockets of moderate in the marin county and definitely in the sacramento area. and these are the wildfires, the major ones, at least that are burning here in the state. and we are seeing improvement in some of the fires here in our sites. fire. still a 38% contained in calusa county. and here's our smoke forecast. i am seeing improvement with this one yesterday. we saw you know, some slight risk of some smoke in the bay area. even in the sacramento area, this light blue indicates that that smoke is a very light. so that is good news. and with that, we do good air quality in the forecast. so that is great because, you know, some of you are sensitive could really feel the impacts of that. so here's our weather pattern. we

the orange is for the east bay over the east bay hills, mostly in up in the north.hey were talking about heat advisory this week for tomorrow. wednesday and into thursday. now we're taking a breather right now because of this front, which helped bring in some some scatter little clouds here, but also nice that marine layer of work here put the over the east bay hills a bit. that's going to erode and we're going to dry out a little bit going forward. now the winds are still with us and still on shore. that's good and will continue tomorrow. notice, though, this little flip up here around solano county, little offshore there. plus, the winds in the north bay coming northwesterly rather than west. so that's not so great. but high pressure will build for a couple of days and still surface winds to be had so around the bay a little bit on the breezy side back to the moisture levels. as we watch we go to tomorrow afternoon. those levels drop and this is relative humidity. yes, it's going to be hotter, which means the atmosphere can support more moisture in the technically
