you can see we're now up into the teens in parts of the east bay in the north bay, 10 to 12 miles per so. if you are headed out, just definitely take a jacket with you. cause of that wind gets whipping. you're going to want one. here is what's happening out of half moon bay. we've got the clouds are kind of hanging out there. they've been there all day today, but we're going to see them picking up all across the bay area as we get into tonight. tomorrow, we've got an early shower chance. and then wednesday, a little chance of some scattered showers, too. so let me show you how that plays out. we go through tonight here come the clouds. then tomorrow morning, we wake up. we've got a little shot of some showers that about 7.30, tomorrow morning. so you can see these are very light and variable the probably enough to make the roads wet as we go throughout the morning. not too bad in the afternoon. here's wednesday morning, starting cloudy. and then you can see as we get later into the day on wednesday. yet another round of the showers coming in. and so we kind of stay unsettled throughou

we've got a little bit more over the east bay shore and into the inner east bay.right over the santa cruz mountains. we started out this morning with rain snow mix over mount hamilton, but it looks like it's melting fairly quickly. there will be snow continuing in the sierra, and there is a winter travel advisory in the sierra until tomorrow afternoon. our advisory is for our coastline, a high surf advisory that goes until tomorrow night. but here's a look at the system. if you notice or observe very closely, you can see kind of a circular motion going on. that's the low passing through. and that is what is triggering that possibility of the thunderstorms, very unstable air coming along with that. here's a look at noontime. notice we are mainly dry but rolling into sunset just after 6:00. we still have that possibility of a few scattered showers out there. so with that said, pop up showers the risk of maybe a few thunderstorms, especially during the morning hours. but for the most part, your day is going to be dry and it's going to be nice. it's going to be cool,

here's your view outside from the east bay hills, looking down into the bay. plenty of sunshine all across the bay area. for the sierra, we did see a good dose of weekend snow, especially for the central and southern sierra and saw some showers for socal neighbors. this is all good news because it does look like our next area of low pressure will actually be resulting in much the same, much needed rain and snow for the areas that really need it. most. we could see a few maybe isolated sprinkles come tuesday. i'm feeling like it's looking very unlikely. wednesday. the nature of the system is so similar to what we saw over the weekend, which will bring a lot of rain to the central coast and the central, the southern sierra. some snowfall. but the bay-area you'll notice we kinda sit it out. a lot of this energy just skirts around us. so where is the sierra does see some good snow. southern california. see some good rain. the bay just on the lighter side of things will dry out into the weekend after that with next week, looking very likely to bring a much more sig

it is lights up from the east bay to the south bay to peninsula.e bit. but it's not until sunrise tomorrow morning that the winds really died down. they kind of linger at the coast a little bit for today. speaking of the my high surf advisory is in effect that high surf advisories for 20 foot. breaking winds. there's an increased chance for sneaker waves. good, which could appear to come out of nowhere and sweep across the beaches and the docks and the jedi's. you don't want to be walking on the beach. you don't want to swim in these waves either because they're also dangerous rip currents that are quite likely. we could certainly strong currents pull you off shore so you don't want to go in that hazardous cold, dangerous water in the meantime, that high surf advisory that is in effect through tomorrow night. at 9 o'clock. and again today, mostly cloudy. it's windy. chance of rain continues until tonight. thunderstorm chances, maybe a 15, 20% chance of thunderstorms in the east bay, especially possibly even in the south bay. not a sure thing at all

to our storm ranger, the bay area's only mobile doppler radar gunfire late last night outside an east bay restaurant has left four people hurt. tonight, investigators are looking for clues as they try and track down the shooter. nbc bay area's christie smith joins us live outside the restaurant on foothill boulevard. christie, what can you tell us at this hour? well, police are saying they started getting calls before 11:00 last night after a shooting. and when they arrived, they found that three people were shot and wounded and went to the hospital. and then a fourth person was also shot and went to the hospital on their own. all are expected to make a full recovery. the parking lot was empty today at the grill by miss g, and police say the shooting occurred in the parking lot outside, and the only activity we saw today was customers hoping to stop by and go in. but they were surprised to find it was not open and they did not know about the incident last night. neighbors told us off camera that they heard what sounded like yelling outside and then rapid gunfire. and then, of course, poli

late last night outside an east bay restaurant has left four people hurt. and tonight, investigators are looking for clues as they try to track down that shooter. nbc bay area's christie smith joins us from outside the hayward police department live in christie. what do we know so far? well, hayward police tell us that this happened before 11:00 last night. they received multiple calls regarding a shooting, and when they arrived, they found three people shot. they were taken to the hospital. and then a fourth person was also shot, but went to the hospital on their own. police say all of them are expected to make a full recovery. the parking lot at the grill by miss g on foothill was empty today. the shooting occurred outside and the restaurant was closed today. neighbors told me off camera they heard yelling last night and multiple gunshots. and then a major police response and ambulances. they said law enforcement appeared to be searching in the area. today, some patrons stopped by and were surprised to find that the restaurant wasn't open, but they didn't

as you can see in the east bay, i believe.fog trying to work its way back into the picture. so overnight tonight, if you're waking up early, that fog could impact visibility. so just be extra careful out there as we've added that to the forecast tomorrow morning. temperatures will be in the 40s to start things off, and there's the chance we'll see what happens. we could have a dense fog advisory issued for portions of the bay area. so a cooler saturday as this system marches closer to our coastline. this will eventually produce some rain showers as well. so here's the plan this weekend saturday clouds and then some sunday off and on. showers with the possibility of a thunderstorm. this will also impact the sierras. well, this was the sierra today looking at all the blue sky out there. but we have some changes. the winter weather advisory begins saturday night until 1 p.m. on monday, and snowfall could be right around 5 to 10in. so here we go tomorrow morning. low clouds, some areas of fog out there and then into the afternoon

at live doppler seven, and you will notice the focus of the high clouds from san francisco to the east bay and the south bay. that's all in association with the low that's heading towards southern california. and you can see it there. this is the system that we are watching for the upcoming weekend. it is sending a westerly swell in our direction. beach hazards statement goes up tonight at 9:00. it runs until 9 a.m. saturday. current wave heights are 4 to 9ft. that westerly swell with breakers up to 14ft means there is a risk of rip currents and sneaker waves that will get replaced by a high surf advisory tomorrow morning until monday night as those breakers build. so just use caution if you're going to be at the coast. it is socked in from the golden gate bridge view. you can see the fog is back. low 60s san francisco, oakland. it is 69, in hayward and in redwood city. san jose 66 degrees. here's a view from our east bay hills camera. and 70 degrees right now in santa rosa. 57 in petaluma. the rest of you from napa to livermore in the 60s. level one system late tomorrow night into sunday
