for the east bay and north bay hills. obviously gusty winds at times.a closer look at that in just a moment. the potential as we wake up tomorrow morning, we could have some broken branches and downed trees especially in the east bay hills. and later on tonight perhaps even the santa cruz mountains. so as we wake up tomorrow morning it will be chilly out there. 40s and 50s. the first half of the day the morning hours dealing with more wind. by the afternoon most of the stronger winds retreat back up to the hill tops. might see some haze or some smoke from fires to the north and the north end of the sacramento valley, that could be making for some hazy skies. highs range from low to mid 70s in san francisco, oakland. 80 degrees tomorrow in santa rosa. so the wind speeds right now, there you saw just at the top of the hour, 89 mile per hour gusts there. look at the purple here that has dropped into the east bay hills, the berkeley hills, oakland, sustained winds at 41 miles per hour there in the oakland hills. that is where we're seeing some of the strong

so that's why we have this red flag warning in effect for the north bay hills and east bay hills and mountains, including the diablo range this red flag warning will go into effect at 11 o'clock sunday morning all the way through tuesday morning but for the rest of the bay area it's mainly going to start sunday night through monday morning. so there are 2 red flag warnings there not a typical red flag warning because we're not tracking any hot conditions but extremely dry and windy weather. we'll still give us that high fire danger peak of our high fire season in the bay area tracking a lot of moisture out there right now in the form of that deepening marine layer so once again we're going to notice that increase in that cloud cover right now it is hanging tight along the coast, but it will become more widespread during the overnight hours but then by around mid morning with those northerly winds we're going to clear out and what the marine layer will be nonexistent that is going to contribute to our single digit relative humidity temperatures out there right now widespread 50's along

east bay hills is one of those. let's come in for a close-up look. we will take a look at the current wind speeds. 43 mile- per-hour gust being recorded in the berkeley hills. we have already hit 80 in the hills above wine country. more on that later. the wind speeds along are around -- this is why it was advised to evacuate. as we play this forward into the overnight hours, that theme will continue. stronger wind up in the hills. in fact as the winds race into the bay area from the east, as they hit the ridges of the mountains, they get forced downhill with more momentum. they speed up and they become more troublesome. the theme on this is, if you are on the west side of a mountain rage, anywhere in the bay area, we are looking at east bay hills, you are of a higher level of concern because the wind will be gusting stronger. there is montclair. we will be reporting live from there in a moment. to point out some of the trouble spots. we will have more on that coming up in just a moment. >>> our reporter is live in montclair without folks are dealing

effect come just disappeared off the map but it is still in effect for the north bay mountains, east bay hills and the diablo range. we will get that result in the national weather service data lagging behind. the numbers are important, gus and the 50 to 60 mile an hour range, and humidity is still lower than 20%. a look at the fire weather conditions, 350 of them, in the vast majority of them are either in red flag conditions, those of the red circles, or close to red flag conditions. those of the yellow circles. the wind is not as strong as it was last night, that is the good news but it is still gusty. and the humidity is still less than 10% across much of the bay area. last night, mount st. helena, 80 mile an hour wind gust just before of them: 30 last night. 70 miles an hour, the oakland hills had a wind gust close to severe thunderstorms, 57 miles an hour, not the airport measured 50 mile an hour wind gusts. so while it is not going to be this strong, tonight, still strong enough and the humidity is still low enough to keep us in the critical fire weather threat. we take a look at the fo

well because of the fire conditions regional parks of the east bay hills will be closed through friday east bay park some posted a list of close parts on its website. they will be closed starting at 5 o'clock this morning. so that's right around the corner through friday morning at 11:00am. well good 2 more bay area counties alameda and santa clara counties have actually moved into a less restrictive tier. those 2 counties are now in the orange or moderate tier of the state's reopening tear system more businesses will be allowed to reopen indoor operations of course with safety precautions and modifications in place. now these 2 counties now join san francisco in the moderate here said matt hale contra costa solano napa and run county are still in the substantial tier and sonoma county has stayed in the most restrictive purple tier. to the south bay santa clara county is now the largest county in the state to enter the orange reopening tear not keep in mind. this allows indoor dining and gatherings to also resume with increase capacity, retail operations and other businesses will be st

a red flag warning for the north bay mountains and the east bay hills still in effect until this afternoon. our coverage continues now at this hour. nbc bay area bob redell is live in lafayette and meteorologist kari hall is tracking the dangerous conditions. in oakland hills the concern was the fire spreading to other homes. what about the wind conditions in that area a little bit earlier? >> we are still seeing winds gusting as we check out oakland and the weather conditions there. we head to the hills. winds up to 30 to 32 miles per hour. the temperature at 60 but the relative humidity is still critically low and dry vegetation it was good they were able to get a handle on that before it did continue to spread into more of the vegetation in that area. overall we are seeing a lot of winds in the valleys calming down. it's gusty in hills and upper elevations. we were talking about mt. st. helena winds gusting 80 miles per hour overnight and now seeing wind gusts at 45 miles per hour coming down from the wind gust we had earlier this morning that was at 76. it's still pretty gusty but not
