east bay and north bay mountains. you are probably already hearing the winds roaring if you are in the hills this morning. the 7-day forecast is now coming up at the bottom of the screen, and while the hills are going to see the highest wind gusts, we're also going to have gusty winds in the valleys. this is where we have the wind advisories pretty much everywhere for the bay area today. wind gusts at 20 to 30 miles per hour. we are also looking at the relative humidity, and let's go through the day and where you see the bright reds that's where the humidity will be the lowest. it drops into the teens this afternoon. santa rosa, napa, novato, you can see the relative humidity numbers critically dry. when the humidity is this low if you get a fire it just spreads more rapidly. when the air is dry, the winds are gusting and it dries out the vegetation even more which is already had a record dry level. going into the overnight hours, we normally see the humidity levels coming up, and it comes up to the 25 to 30% range which is very dry. as we go into today, our te very chilly again tonight, s and especially

this is mainly east bay hills here now. i have been watching this persistent band across 580, a break thankfully. places like fremont and union city, we've got issues on 880. we will hear from justin andrews in a second. as long as we are not getting rain that's at least somewhat helpful to the situation. we have good rain through san mateo. 101, you've got rain. keep that in mind as you take the drive on the san mateo commute up and down the peninsula. then there is good rain along 37 in the north bay. 101 has rain through novato. it's been consistent into napa as well. that band has been running over the same locations in the north bay. plan on that too if you are hitting the road. thankfully you go north on 101 through the rest of sonoma, you are getting a break. you will see light rain over the next hours. that's 7:30, maybe more rain working its way across southern sonoma. once we go to 10:00, it really does look better. it just didn't clear fast enough for our monday morning commute. what i have done is i have listed

there's a wind advisory in the east bay hills, north bay hills. leys, so it's going to be windy one overnight into tomorrow afternoon, and then it looks like it wants to die down pretty quick. there's a red flag warning. pretty much the areas we're looking at. and of course, we also want to look at the wind. if you look at the contours here for where the strongest winds are reds or the strongest in the time up top monday at one a.m. there it is right there monday morning about four am we sort of peak in the overnight hours and then watch what happens. the red. where the contour spreads out around lunchtime and then kind of starts to back off after about two or three o'clock. so what i just say the main event for this thing the sweet spot is going to be somewhere around three in the morning. to about. two in the afternoon. three in the afternoon. something like that, and then it goes away pretty quickly. so that's the plan anyway. as you look outside, beautiful weekend around the bay area was classic fall weather looks like classic fall weather out

a wind advisory in effect for the north bay hills, east bay hills in the east bay valleys that goes into effect in the next well right now, right? yeah 11 o'clock and the rest of the bay area. it goes into effect tomorrow morning. the strongest winds are going to essentially be late tonight. early tomorrow morning. there's the red flag warning. gus could easily make 60 miles an hour up in the hills. the wind direction i've been talking about it, i suspect because there's so much north in this wind. it's not north. it's not. this is typically an offshore wind right and that's typically are fire danger that direction would be northeast. these winds are going to be more like this. and so what that means is you're going to get funneling down through the central valley, right? it's going to go right to the low lying area and it's going to be hemmed in by the sierra nevada and the coastal hills or in the. sierra nevada, and so you're going to see some very strong winds gusting through their eyes suspect sacramento because he gusts of 50 miles an hour down at sea level will see gusts up to 60 m
