you see now bouncing up against the east bay hills.hill. you can see a thing but you can see down below now parts of berkeley and oakland, tune out over the bay today. temperatures taken another hit, of course, memphis last week. and we have those numbers up in the triple digits today. all starting to run a little bit below the average for this time of year. 60's and 70's in many spots. so it's warm 80's in the valleys, but that's going to be a trend as we head over the next couple days. if you're enjoying a barbecue this evening, it's a nice night out there. 72 degrees in san jose. 60 of pacifica. 64 in 7 tails to warm 78 in dublin, 69 and breezy in 58 now and cooling off in timber on. but that onshore breeze, you can see right there, some 20 mile an hour winds along the coastline of the 25 into fairfield. so that onshore wind going to carry with it. guess what, more low clouds and fog and you see the year just beginning to make its way inside the bay and more of that on the way to as we head throuth the night and just see that thing

the fog now starting to roll in across the east bay hills. but look at that. see that. sometimes you that cloud deck. so low that really cause a problem right now. this is good sign for us as far as fireworks display. yeah. >> you can have the clouds out there, but be able to see a lot of those displaced temperatures today. again, taking another hit coming down a bit. a lot of those numbers now running just below the average in many spots, just pretty comfortable weather out there. 60's and 70's, most spots. you still have some 80's in the valleys this evening. yep. increasing low clouds throughout the night tonight. even some coastal drizzle, a real possibility. some of those clouds now making their way over san bruno mountain morning clouds tomorrow, partial clearing in the afternoon. then much normal, a cooler than normal temperatures going to be settling in as we head in the rest of the week. right now, they're quality looking very good around the bay area. the only spot that son yelling a little haze there in the south bay. but overall we're getting that nice seabr

now a heat advisory covering all of the east bay over the east bay hills. there solano counties. nty also involved in this. but you can see peninsula, san francisco and a good chunk of the north bay east bay shoreline. not because of some onshore winds working. 74 at this hour now for any act. most readings in the east bay are in the 60's and some 50's hugging off towards the west. give you a quick comparison at this hour. we're still trailing in a couple little spots there. so we'll have to make up for that in our highs this afternoon. now, as we get that daytime heating, it's going to drive some of the local winds going on in those local winds are onshore for us to give us that ocean cooled air little bit for the east bay shoreline and try to make its way across the quirkiness straight. still numbers will be popping then tomorrow we're looking for some scattered clouds right now. you can see him down south. they're gulf of california, baja, california. that's going to be rising overnight to our area. we don't see any radar echoes with that. but the concern often is dry lightning

tonight for all of these areas that includes the north bay interior mountains, the east bay interior valleys, the east bay hills and now -- and eastern santa clara the mountains. and the risk of illness has increased under conditions like this. if there is any good news about fire dangers, is that our fire danger index is only low to moderate right now and that will get better as the cooling kicks in tomorrow. i will have more details later. >> firefighters say hot and dry conditions have contributed to several grass fires this morning. cornell barnard takes a look at how crews got a handle on the fires while others try to escape the weekend heat. got the attention of drivers on the all jawon pass early saturday, it was this grass fire. travelers on interstate 580 grabbing video of the smoke and flames moving across the hillside. >> it came out of our house and i saw four distinct columns. gauff says it was actually for fires over an 8 mile stretch which burned about 55 acres of open space. the chp tweeted asking drivers to proceed with caution on westbound 580. the chp suspected possible arson but cap i believ

going to continue to see more of that fog stretching on short now about putting up against the east bay hills. and as it does, yeah, we're going to see more. the cloud cover fill into the bay and many the valleys overnight tonight. so everybody's going to see a good dose of that marine air. here's the good news to after the 4th of july, the air quality looking pretty good around the bay area. most areas in the green little haze into the san jose area. but that onshore wind will clear out your skies continuously as we head through this period. a look at some very good air quality as we head toward tomorrow in the first part of the weekend next that may high pressure will start to build in other southwest. we're going to crank up the heat. maybe we start talking about some triple digit heat again late next week, too numbers, around the bay area. now 73 in san jose is 69 in that the 66 degrees right now in santa rosa. 76 in lemore. 61 degrees in san francisco. you see that cool fog already shooting its way across the bay. look at that little thing or fog stretching right through the golden gate

that fog already bouncing up against the east bay hills, too. temperatures today. yeah, we're below the average. how about that? we went from triple digits this last weekend to well above the average to well below the average effect 12 degrees below normal and 14 degrees below normal in santa rosa. how about the more? yes, 7 degrees below the average. they just squeaked out 80 degrees. i don't think we're going to sniff an ad for tomorrow and local bay area's. we'll see a really that cool. marine air well onshore tonight. and it's tomorrow morning, only partial clearing up by the afternoon. some of the fog probably lingering just inside the bay. then as we look toward the weekend, it will be a much cooler weekend ahead. temperatures 5 to 15 degrees below the average for this time of year. you see that fog already sneaking in across the golden gate bridge and right now bouncing up against the east bay hills. as that starts to move on shore. of course, last night were worried about that with the fireworks displays worked out well that the cloud deck was high enough t

east bay shoreline. meanwhile, 60's over the east bay hills to some 50's and 60's mixture up north. 56, san francisco. 55 for half moon bay. the set up is that high. it's far to the east. so its impact not directly overhead any longer. we're starting to get relaxing in terms of the weather. we call it warm as what we're going to see. well inland, not the hot heat spike we have previously. the fog returning today. also tomorrow, maybe even some coastal drizzle, too, getting ahead of things. now, this high continues off towards our east and again relaxes, although kind of steps back a little bit over the weekend. so we'll see temperatures respond accordingly to that might get to 101. 0, 2 or so. but then into next week, what's interesting is we have a trough towards our north and this particular model run gives us the clean the cool scenario, although other models disagree with that, keeping one of the hot mode that means upper 90's, maybe 100 into middle of next week. so we'll see which one comes like this one here. so hopefully that will hold. i'm rooting for anyway. 4 zone forecast here. 62 san francisc

you can see some of those clouds bouncing up against the east bay hills in a place like berkeley and oakland spreading down toward hayward. and that will kind of fill in as we head through the evening hours now. so those fireworks displays going just before 10 o'clock. you can see more and more cloud cover. that's for sure. even parts of the north bay, you'll see some of those clouds shoot into the gaps. probably in the petaluma while staying nice and clear in the santa clara valley in the east bay are looking nicenand clear as well. and then as we head toward the midnight hour, i think the clouds really begin to fill in, especially after midnight. but i think the good news is that cloud deck really is going to stay high enough that we're going to be able to see the enjoyed out there tonight. dress warmly, though you'll see 50's in the san francisco with that patchy fog. a numbers in the 60's and low 70's in some of the valleys. >> thank you, lawrence. and we are roughly an hour away from san francisco's annual fireworks show at pier. 39 kron four's man. harry is live there now talki

and it looks like bouncing up against the east bay hills, too. tonight that fog is starting march back on shore. of course, that bringing with it that nice, fresh, cool ocean air. all right, off the ocean waters, not really, really knock down the temperatures around the bay area. here's a 24 hour. temperature change about that 20 degrees cooler today. and santa rosa, 17 degrees. cooler fairfield drop another 10 degrees in concord. 9 little more and 12 degrees cooler in hayward. so these temperatures coming down across the board highs today that still hot livermore. but instead of 107 degrees, you're 91 89 in concord, 80 in san jose. 76 degrees in napa and the cooler. 65 in san francisco. out the door right now. not a bad evening. got cool numbers. the 50's coast side. so 16 pleasant in san jose are still in the 70's in the east bay valleys. looking very nice. their 50, a 8 degrees now berkeley, 63 announced moments. 66 in the onshore. winds going to carry with a more low clouds and fog. it's already start to march back on shore, pushing into bay

specifically for inland contra costa county, this is the forecast for the east bay, we are looking at over past the east bay hills towards mount diablo, we've got first alert days on here and even though saturday is the day where the numbers are going to be even higher, that might be where we peek, the three days on here are friday, saturday and sunday , all three are first alert status. i think friday might be more important because that is the day we are going to notice the temperatures really take the biggest jump. as we take a look at the current number right now for concord at this point, it is 90, just on the other side of the hill. one other comparison just to take a look at how much cooler it is in the city, but even here in the city, when we get to that friday, saturday, sunday , we don't have a first alert forecast for san francisco. the numbers will be like the mid-70s here but we will go over that, we will look at the microclimates for your part of the bay coming up in just a few minutes. >>> thank you so much. as we brace for hotter temperatures , the state has launched a new website to make sure tha
