here's a live shot of the east bay shoreline. >> all kind of like lit up. as you can see quite a bit carpet of lights, if you will. this is what it looks like on satellite radar. it underscores 2 different batches of moisture, but also an air mass. the first is the subtropical jet. the pineapple express. call it what you will. that was providing all the moisture the air with that is relatively mild and up north as that low and that's cold air coming out of the gulf of alaska that no one is going to drive the snows but also lower the snow levels everywhere it goes. here's what it looks the forecast for you in the future cast their by tomorrow morning at first light, we're dealing with imbedded heavy rain inside moderate to a modest rain showers occurring and that will continue during the afternoon, too as it starts to favor a little bit down south exit the north bay little bit by the late afternoon, early evening hours there you see that heavy rain around santa cruz not only flooding as may be an issue there. but after this is all said and done. there might

minor localized street flooding possible down here even up along the east bay shoreline and our inland east bay valley communities. concord and livermore getting an inch or two by the time this is all said and done with. the big accumulations happen down within the footprint of the burn scar and that's where the bigger concerns come in for debris flows. in addition to the rain, a wind advisory going from now until 7:00 tomorrow morning. only for city peninsula, south bay east bay in other words, doesn't include the north bay. windy everywhere but particularly windy the further south you are. enough to break a branch off a tree. daytime highs today, you won't even notice. temperatures climbing into the mid upper 50s and it will be damp. that's what you will notic from this system. so there is a winter storm warning in the mountains as a result of that. from now until tuesday night at 10:00, we'll see snow level down to 3500 feet. that's fairly low. another sign that this system has colds air to work with. that's good. and there's another system coming. gets here on wednesday. we'll play

degrees currently at 48 degrees right now at this 8 o'clock hour widespread mid 40's for the east bay shoreline 45 degrees for oakland san jose 47 degrees with widespread mid 40's. for those of you in the north bay. but san anselmo currently 42 degrees. as you step outside for your sunday night. so we are tracking, though, that increase in cloud cover throughout tonight, especially tomorrow ahead of our approaching storm. the first of 3 storms. it's going to bring us inches of rain to the bay area. but from now until then, pretty calm. wind speeds in the single digits. we are going to notice some gustier winds throughout tomorrow. 20 miles per hour less and the highest peaks for our east bay hills and also mountains as well as in the north bay gusts, upwards of 30 miles per hour or less. but dense low clouds and fog not going to be an issue throughout tonight with the exception of those of you in concord, you are going to see visibility at or near 0 to start your monday morning drive. so just a heads up there, better lifting and clearing shortly before your new lunchtime hour. but it's that hig

would eclipse is a good chunk of the east bay shoreline down to say albany and hayward and oakland. so it's going to favor the north up to richmond probably with this next batch. ultimately everybody will get involved. it's just a matter of timing and it's pretty typical college drop northwest to southeast is the typical winter pattern. some of this moisture is coming from the lower latitudes. what somewhat mild compared to some cooler air thursday. but we're doing it in stages because much colder air is expected later now this is going to be a breezy. well, i kind of stormy action for tonight. so the winds will be rolled tense. there's no statements with any of that. then yeah. look at the colors ation popping up here in the north bay and east bay. this is for thursday. now. we'll have the statements yet, although where maybe some popping later going to be more on the windy side, another all due south, but they shift more kind of on shore. as you can see later by thursday afternoon taking us into friday and ernest break appears to be on friday itself before we fire back up again fo

but live shot, as you can see, the east bay shoreline all lit up nicely. here is the cloud cover is starting to build on top of us. meanwhile, this is the storm is going to do. what kind of the tale of 2 different storms. we have the subtropical jet that's mild to warm. i know doesn't feel warm outside but it's mild by winter standards that moisture. and then meanwhile, up to the north. that's the low. that is very cold out of the gulf of alaska. it's going help of the mountain snow. so that's what it looked like in the overnight first thing in the morning as you can see, very much involved with some heavy rain across the bay area. it would be more spotty in intensity as we go through the afternoon and into tomorrow evening kind of staver is a line south of the golden gate where all the heavy rain will be up to the north. they'll be getting a little bit of a break. that's just a break now because it will fire back up again with the success of system on monday. by the way, now, the winds i mentioned this earlier. the wind advisory actually kicks in tomorrow
