again, here's a nice little shot here in the east bay shoreline. and you can get a shot of what's going on there with some cloud cover in mixture in there. some conversation for you as well. the water colors temperatures right now into the 50's. the mid-fifties at that. of course, we're going to be dropping from that point. not a whole lot. rare is not very dry. so that's going to be the breaks for low temperatures tonight for the next few hours, we got to keep that isolated shower in there and maybe an isolated shower as we get later into tonight with most of the readings in the upper 40's. however, as we start to lose some of the energy in the atmosphere that's going to then take away some of the energy for the showers. there's that low that we had over the weekend. it's going to have its final act dropping south. probably by wednesday. and it looks like we go into a dry patch earnest into thursday. there is a closer shot of what we've got going on here. and yes, the lightning strikes you see in the central valley, sacramento valley are real. yes

we've got a couple peeks of sun working their magic for right now inch or whenever you get east bay shoreline. pretty much mostly cloudy and it will be the story for even this afternoon. now, here's a look at radar as we stand to see a nice little splash of rain out to sea and basically all day. that's what we're going to be playing whac-a-mole with these pop-up little showers here. and there generally speaking, mostly cloudy, the deeper moisture still yet out to there. it is that big blob you see towards our southwest and as kind of strange twist, it will be actual little warmer tomorrow, even though we won't even see any sun, we're going to be warmer sector with all this moisture coming our way. windsor, uneventful for right now and will be for today. but they will be very active late tonight and tomorrow. we'll be showing you the wind patterns coming up in a bit right now. what we do have is a flood watch because of the saturated ground that we're going to add to it with intense rain for late overnight early tomorrow morning. coupled with that, as i mentioned earlier, the winds, though, th

the east bay shoreline hayward, union city and parts of fremont livermore. you're starting to see that moderate rain as well. the north bay notice we're seeing like light and dark gray green here. so they're not really getting a lot at this time. but that is going to change in the overnight hours. so here's the future cast model for you. this is midnight and then you notice here. that's when we start to see the heavier bands of rain start to come in towards half moon bay and santa cruz here. and then this is 04:00am. you notice the oranges and the reds towards and even snow and the over the mountains here. this is like the north coast by right above santa rosa. and it's right about sonoma county lake mendocino counties. the santa rosa petaluma. you could see some heavy downpours and then notice another u.s. really strong by the santa cruz mountains. so this is 08:00am and you could see that red cell there that is set up possibly a thunderstorm heading towards half moon bay. so towards the afternoon, we could see widespread moderate, scattered rain and a chanc

first that you need to watch out for because a lot of us like the east bay shoreline, much of the north bay is fine. we do have some light showers over san pablo bay in marin county. some of those brief heavier showers stretching from between sunnyvale and santa clara on up just north of san jose to milpitas kind of just stationary hanging out there for a while. so in some spots of the south bay, you're fine. others, it's still coming down. good. we have a really fast developing cell just west of half moon bay. this is also moving its way towards the shoreline right now. so i'm going to be watching this one really closely could provide a strike of lightning or 2 and some brief heavy rainfall itself. now for a lot of us, it is going to be a fairly calm next several hours this afternoon will bring an increase in potential of thunderstorm development at the very least, some shower resurgence later on. we will be looking at a fairly calm evening. isolated showers as you go to bed and then into tomorrow morning and afternoon pockets of heavy rain. also a chance of a roll of thunder, too, for

by the time we reach 12, 30, a most of it is it exiting the east bay shoreline. l see pockets of rain until around 03:00pm. and even after that, some isolated showers further inland in the south bay. look at this mount hamilton, just east of san jose going to get a good dusting of snowfall later on today. this is a cold air mass pushing in some snow level is going to continue to follow. this is one of our coldest systems of the year so far. that means that we will have a little bit of snow at the highest peaks in the bay area. additional rainfall today could see an additional half an inch in spots like san jose. most of the north bay. you've already seen your heaviest of it. winds are actually going to pick up as we make our way into the afternoon, 40 to even 50 miles per hour. gusts at the top of mountains and along the coastline. you see any trees that look like they're already stressed from sunday's big storm. they are susceptible to maybe toppling over today. so i would suggest not parking near those trees. that might be looking a little risky snowfall totals

that means the santa cruz mountains, the peninsula coast and a lot of the east bay shoreline is going to be seeing our heavier totals while the north bay, not as much though we do have flood watches in effect right now for all of the bay area in green. and then a flood warning up in marine county and sonoma counties. 4 inches of rain will do it yet. as far as the sierra goes. a winter storm warning into the start of the weekend. snow really starts to pile up on into the tail end of the weekend. sunday is going to be a rough one for your travel back home from the sierra. we do have a high surf advisory at the coast until 03:00pm today. now temperatures are going to be a bit cooler. still pleasant, though, upper 50's to low 60's and we cool down a little further into the weekend. if you want to get outside this weekend, saturday is your most consistently good chance to do so. while sunday will easily be the worst day to be outside. great. i don't think that that will get a busy morning. you can see from the traffic map. >> all along here, 88 80 either 5.80, 101 of the south and along th

if you're heading up the peninsula out over the bay bridge or over the east bay shoreline from oakland some spots of mostly light to moderate rainfall right now, spotty showers will continue for the remainder of the day. chance of thunderstorm development into the early afternoon. one 15 right around san leandro eyeing this potential convective cell working its way northward. all it depends on where this development does occur, but we could see some isolated pockets of heavy rainfall. most of us will come out of the rest of the day with some pretty light showers. but if you find yourself under one of those, these totals could be isolated. very, very heavy and more significant that you're seeing there. most of our flood watch is expired at 10:00am this morning. but we still do have a flood warnings stretching from marin county clear up through sonoma county along 101 there. so be mindful of standing water and debris in roadway too. as you make your way through the north bay, we are seeing flooding potential continuing for the southern part of the state. a rare storm prediction center is

here's 02:00pm, some brief, heavy rainfall across the east bay shoreline stretching up to conquer towardst continues on through the evening commute and into the evening tonight. we just gradually calm down as the days go by tomorrow, going to be a little less active. although radar is still showing some potential, especially further southward. and as wednesday, much the same, especially southern areas could see a few light showers developing. as for today's rainfall, anywhere between a 10th to a quarter of an inch is possible. generally staying light or up into the santa cruz mountains, you can see an inch of additional rainfall still under flood watches and warnings through 10:00am today. notably for sonoma and napa counties as we are seeing higher water levels there on some of our smaller streams, flooding potential is really the worse for southern california. the storm prediction center still has the los angeles metro area under a high risk of flooding concerns as multiple inches of rainfall just continue to pile up down there. that's really the center of the storm at this point. winds

i've been watching the cell moving its way on over the san mateo bridge out to the east bay shorelineright now, little pocket of rain around point richmond right now and maybe a sprinkle or 2 in san francisco. lot of us have actually come down really nicely and we're going to get a brief breather from the rain on into the late morning. some peeks of sunshine, get out there and enjoy it. by early afternoon. we start to see a line of thunderstorms developing offshore. could hear a few rolls of thunder. definitely looking at a resurgence of rainfall into the early afternoon after that pockets of rain continue into the evening. tomorrow also remains unsettled for your friday pockets of rain, maybe even a roll of thunder in there for friday. but some peeks of sunshine, too saturday of this weekend is going to be the best day to get outside as we will be looking at just a few showers during the early morning and then clearing out after that future cast of rainfall totals today into tomorrow. it's going to be super spotty. so some areas might not see much of anything while others do see some
