this is in east oakland. a man renting a home in west oakland got into an argument with his landlady at around 7:30 this morning. her daughter said during that altercation, he grabbed her cane and attacked her son with it and then, while spewing death threats, dragged the landlady into her car and her family called police and the chase was on from west to east oakland and at one point, hitting eastbound 580 with the chase ending at around 8:30 this morning and police said the suspect hit a police car trying to get away and there could be additional charges coming. luckily, nobody was injured. anne makovec, kpix5. >>> in a separate kidnapping case over the weekend, this is how it came to an end in emeryville. a fiery crash turn deadly for one of the two suspects. police said they abducted a woman in the tenderloin district yesterday and then threw her into the trunk of a car. >> she got out of the vehicle by using the emergency release lever, that's how she escaped the kidnapping. >> a police officer followed

landlord and then starting the car chase and they are in the car and that is where the chase ended in east oakland. we'll show you the video we have -- we have video from our chopper to show you guys of this chase that took place earlier this morning. but according to oakland police, the dispute began at the 600 block of oak street on the west side of town. now that tenant who is described saz a man in his 30s assaulted a family member of the 70-year-old landlord and then kidnapped her. he put her in the car and officers were already en route to the scene after he assaulted that family member. they tried to stop that suspect in the car but the suspect kept driving away and then that is when the pursuit continues to the east side of oakland where we are standing near suitor and lorenzo. we're being told by police that the suspect surrender without incident but the 70-year-old was rescued by police who they say that woman is unharmed and apparently no weapons were used during the kidnapping. let's take you back out here live. that is the car where this chase took place. that is where the suspect was
