santa clara valley. you have a picture of what the east bay looks like, santa clara valley with the high clouds dissipatingup. here we go to the north bay. san francisco north of the golden gate bridge, this bay bridge is a great picture of what we can see in the heart of the water. clouds are rolling in throughout the bay but really nothing to be worried about today. today is the calm before the storm in the grand theme of things. low pressure parked offshore and it will bring a series of showers. rain chances increase for a bit and decrease for a bit all week. here is what we are looking at with the storm system alone. it's well offshore starting to bring showers to northern california closer to eureka and crescent city. this is what futurecast is showing as we gear up. notice the first band of showers impacts us early tuesday. that continues to move in throughout our forecast throughout tomorrow. a similar trend into wednesday, thursday, and then it slowly starts to die down this weekend. tomorrow alone you will tune in tomorrow morning around this time, 6:30ish, and we will be talking about that active

santa clara valley. and a little bit over the east bay. but into this afternoon, those clouds are going to move out and we're going to be left with clear skies throughout the bay area. cool temperatures into the overnight hours and then of course gusty conditions too. that's the new weather story for us. we're going to see breezy conditions today in areas like san francisco and half-moon bay, just along that coastline anywhere up to around 30-mile-per-hour winds gusts are expected. but let's take a look at our conditions outside right now. mostly clear skies over the city of san francisco. you see that cloud line just kind of hanging closer to the east bay. into the next couple of days, these clouds are going to roll out and we're not going to see a chance of showers until early next week. that's in our long-range model right now and as we take a look at what's happening today and tomorrow, well, high pressure is moving its way in. so we're going to see clear skies right around the corner. match that with gusty conditions and like i said,

santa cruz mountains. had some okay rain earlier, but even east bay and santa clara valley locations look like they'll pick up. not sure i buy this on truckee for the snow but the snow level will come down, especially as the cold air comes in late saturday into early sunday. so if you're driving up there saturday, today and saturday morning will be all right. they'll be on the warmer sector, just rain. but by late saturday, sunday, i think that turns to a wet snow for us, increasing clouds throughout the day 6070s mild with that south wind. but by tonight, rain develops. it will take us into saturday. good news, though. it's gone by sunday morning and then monday, tuesday. look. okay, you guys. >> all right, steve, thank you. well, this is the last day of the apec summit in san francisco. and there are a few more events scheduled today. but the summit that is wrapping up and president biden will start today meeting with mexican president andres manuel lopez obrador, and then he will host the apec leaders retreat and he'll formally transfer the apec chair to the president of peru. last night, president bide

east bay. and 80s into the santa clara valley. 70s upper 70s near redwood city into this afternoon.s mild for us today. we are sitting about five to ten degrees above average and i have been saying that all week long because that's been the forecast for us. but this weekend once the systems move in bringing in light showers, welcome down into the 60s heading into next week. the bay a very similar trend but 60s as soon as tomorrow with rainy skies in the weekend. >>> let's talk about the roadways right now. metering lights have been turned on at the bay bridge toll plaza. and look at this. we're now seeing the backup this morning. as you head towards those pay gates the toll plaza there, working your way over up the incline. little slow now but the backout not quite too bad. a bit bearable for anyone making the ride into san francisco. just cross our fingers it stays this way for the morning since it's friday and the weekend is finally here. no issues and no visibility problems through here. traffic moving along pretty well out of marin working over into the san francisco. now if you

east and south. half moon bay is 59. mountain is 59 degrees is a mild pattern. there will be some 70s i think santa clara valley and east bay due to some more sun and also that southerly breeze. but sfo picked up 0.03 but that's been about it . if you're a marin coast northward, i think you have a better opportunity today. otherwise you'll have to probably wait. there's huge differences. as i was looking at san jose and fremont as two reference points for the next 48 hours, the projections are. between 0 and 0.72. i would try to split the differences basically what i'm saying here. so the rest of today, if you're south, it will be fine. east will be fine tomorrow. there is a possibility some of that may be reaching areas, say, towards the peninsula, more so fremont, san jose, santa cruz mountains. i think it will be late wednesday, a break on thursday, and then friday, saturday, the low is on its way. that will produce a little bit more in the way of dynamics, although there are huge differences in the forecast totals. so it's just taken every six, 12 hours. but compared to last week, i mean, these are j

and it looks more showers now mostly on the light side in toward the santa clara valley, the east bay. not a whole lot of rain just yet. mostly just light showers but other parts of bay area. definitely seeing the rain drops and throughout the night tonight, we're going to see these bands of moisture move on shore and you can see why you see that swirl. actually, couple swirls off the coastline. a couple areas, low pressure out there right now, one to the south and one to the north here and well, they're kind of wrapping around each other and bringing that rainfall on shore. so models have been having trouble with. i think they got a pretty good flavor for tonight as we head in towards 7 o'clock this evening. that strong band we saw moving across the santa cruz mountains, bring some heavy rainfall in a place like oakland and san leandro looks like more of that rain continuing throughout the night. so here we go throughout the night tonight, we'll be tracking thunderstorms right here on kron. 4 all night long. we don't get to see that very often. but it is active out there right now. i

east bay. we are all waking up hand in hand with upper 40s from fremont to the santa clara valley. we have 40s knot of the golden gate bridge into marin and past that too. here is what we are looking at. widespread throughout the bay area this morning we are under a wind advisory issued by national weather service until 9:00 a.m. we are seeing winds sweep in from the north, gustiest conditions on our models into the east bay in areas like fear field. but we are seeing it along the coast too. this morning this will expire around 9:00 a.m. that's not to say we are done with the winds yet. into napa, fairfield around lunchtime, gusty conditions until the evening hours tonight. then we'll just be dealing with calm conditions. this afternoon, temperatures around average and a little bit warmer throughout the bay area. into this week, a lot of them will be starting to cool down. the rest of us in the bay area and along our coastline, we are above average. let me show you what that will look like. we are starting with daytime highs today in the 60s from san francisco over into concord. 70

santa clara valley. into the low 70s in the east bay, just short of 70 in fremont.h temperatures along the coast, normally cool for mid-november, 60s for half moon bay. upper 60s in san francisco and oakland, and the northbay mostly rising up into the low 70s by saturday afternoon. we might be a degree or so warmer on sunday but it's definitely a copy and paste forecast. the changes kick in next week. let's take a look at the forecast models side by side. we have been keeping you updated on things as they evolve and as they refuse to converge. two models generally agree with each other at this point, the problem is, they are changing their minds so often. but, the latest scenario is that they keep the rain generally for the northern half of the bay area on tuesday and we see a better chance of showers by late wednesday and into wednesday night, sticking around on thursday and more differences start to arise as we finish the work week on friday. the european model will keep a few showers going through the end of the workweek, it could go either way. we run these thin

afternoon we're going to start seeing more 70s pop up in the forecast all throughout the east bay and down into the santa claraling with dry conditions. and a little bit warmer than average conditions too. high pressure is sitting just offshore. it's kind of acting like bubble for us and it's allowing the storm track to move just to the north of us, watch what i mean by that. the storm continues to move all the way up into canada. the pacific northwest. and then actually wrapping its way back down into areas like colorado, wyoming, and then back here in california, we're kind of just in the little bubble of dry beautiful sunshine for us. i mean look at the forecast for today alone anywhere from los angeles over into south lake tahoe and back here in the bay, we're dealing with mild conditions. beautiful warm temperatures for us down in the south. it's going to be a stunning day for us today here in california. just the low clouds moving their way through today and tomorrow. i want to show you what's going on in the large-scale system. there's a huge storm moving its way off throughout the east coast right now

sitting in the 40s in anywhere from the santa clara valley stretching into the east bay.ar skies at san jose's airport this morning and here we go into san francisco. low 50s right now as we're waking up so bundle up before you head outside. here's what we have all the way up into the north bay. more 40s there and into this afternoon, our daytime highs are not going to warm-up too much more. we're seeing clear conditions right now allowing the overnight lows to really drop fast. this afternoon the offshore winds really, really wick up along the coast. that allows for drier conditions in our inland areas too. so this morning alone, notice how we see about 25-mile-per-hour winds in areas like half-moon bay and lighter conditions to kick off over near bodega bay but all the way up into fairfield, we're experiencing those winds as well. that's the trend for us into this afternoon. clear skies and windy conditions and temperatures just a little bit above average as we head into this afternoon. so i want to show you what that's going to look like for us today on the map. upper

santa clara valley. we're actually starting to clear up down near the santa clara valley with just some light showers off into the eastar milpitas. this afternoon the storm is not going to pack a big bunch. this is what's happening as we advance the clock hour-by-hour on futurecast and still cloudy skies widespread throughout the bay area but not until around 10:00 we really start to clear up widespread throughout the bay area. actually get some mix of sun and clouds into the evening hours tonight. and in total, that gives us about a quarter inch of rain in areas like oakland and less impressive numbers closer to santa rosa with pretty impressive numbers of all the way down into fremont. more on that in bit. >>> thank you, jess. >>> check in on the bay area bridges for the traffic report. we start with the san mateo cam and conditions look a bit slow there. as drivers are driving from the toll plaza just a 16 minute drive from 880 to highway 101. to the golden gate bridge cam. more cars are appearing than we last reported. it is a 22 minute drive going southbound from sr 37 into the city. on the bay bridge, metering l

first alert doppler and showers making their way west to east streaming through the santa cruz mountains into the southern end of the santa clara north bay than anywhere else, but that activity will continue to quiet down through the rest of tonight. you can see the lightning symbols indicating where we saw some thunderstorms. tonight futurecast shows a few more showers offshore trying to make their way towards the coast and largely falling apart. we'll start off with a mix of clouds and sunshine, plenty of sun in the afternoon and plenty of sunshine as well wednesday. down the line our rain chances in the seven-day forecast will remain very limited, but just beyond that time frame the six to ten-day outlook from the climate prediction center shows a good chance of wetter than normal conditions, not just the bay area, but most of california. it looks like a more organized storm system will take aim at the california coast around the middle of next week. a lot could still change, but it looks favorable for now and the eight to 14-day outlook from the climate prediction center shows a decent chance of wetter than normal condition
