. >> let's take a live look here at the east shore freeway.you will likely see more chp officers on bay area roads today. the agency has increased its patrols over this memorial day weekend. officers are looking for drivers who are speeding, distracted or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. now, historically, memorial day weekend is a particularly dangerous time to be on the road. last memorial day weekend, chp made more than 1100 dui arrests. 46 people were killed in crashes across california to help keep the roads safer. chp is telling people to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, or use a ride share service. >> unfortunately, there's still people out there that do decide to get behind a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. we definitely encourage them to obviously be a sober driver for somebody, if you have been drinking, take advantage of those rideshare services, a taxi, public transportation, or if you have to just walk the maximum enforcement period ends tonight. >> well, those water temps continue to be cold, s
