you know what it was a very free thinking period they talked a lot in the lower east side about free thinking young people. it was one person described it as the opposite of the 1960s because the conservative older generation was all going around with long hair and beards and the younger generation had short hair and clean shave and faces, but it is the reason of estimated probably to 100 workers. would have been in the factory that day were not because they were observant and were out for the sabbath but i have a list in the in the back of the book 140 victims named there were six whose bodies were never identified. this is the first time even the list of the names has been put together in one place. no paper or record had done that. before and i did that because this fire has such a legacy and it comes from the deaths of these young people two of them just 14 years old kate leone and sarah maltese. and i've tried in the book to tell some of their stories for the first time the newspapers then were good in many ways, but they weren't interested in working people. i tell the story of

the cost of living in the east side versus the west side of manhattan is very high as opposed to the bronx. $15 an hour did not break the back of neighborhoods like the bronx. it increased the purchasing power of consumers. consumers, if you give them an extra $100 a week, they will go to the grocery store. they will go to the local business and spend it there. they will motivate that economy. frank mindy roosevelt implemented -- franklin d roosevelt implemented the minimum wage in the middle of the great depression. as people were in job lines across the city and people were committing suicide because the economy collapsed. he had the vision to move forward and clement minimum wage -- and implement the minimum wage. it proved to be very effective. it proved to be the biggest stimulus package. $15 an hour is not a lot. how can you survive anywhere in america with devon dollars and $.25 -- america with $7.25? with $1200 a week they can pay rent and maybe even save extra money and be able to spend more in the local economy. i think that is good for any part of america, including buffal

temperatures around the bay, mid to upper 50s, mid-50s for san francisco, upper 50s close to 60 on the east side of the bay and mostly low 60s in the north bay. the farther inland we go the better chance we have of getting up into the mid 60s. that will be the case for northern sonoma and napa counties. the best rain chance moves in late sunday, primarily talking late afternoon into the evening and overnight hours. it will be one wave of rain that moves through and lingering often on showers. the rest of sunday night into the daylight hours on monday, we dry out tuesday and wednesday, and another rain chance heading our way by thursday and friday. we are not getting carried away with the percentages just at because it is a long way down the line and in forecasting terms we are still sorting out discrepancies in the model data. we will keep you updated on that late next week but that sunday and monday rain chance looks like it will bring anywhere from a quarter inch to may be close to half inch of again very welcome rainfall, not a drought buster but this does help to at least keep pace with what
