rick really need the fabric of this story, because he is from east texas, too. he wanted to do a real authentic look at small-town texas gossip, like the people of the town. that really came through in the script. and also, another thought that went through my mind is this is something that is far away from me, very far from anything i've done in the past. the character is super effeminate and from texas and a mortician, all these elements i have never touched on before. he murdered someone. i have never played a part that had that kind of dark secret, and i have never murdered anyone.
