baltimore of 81 degrees. throughout the day, we saw some heavy rainfall on the eastern shore. so up in harford county and northern baltimore county into southern pennsylvania early this morning. very heavy thunderstorms. very small, but came roaming through the region. right now very heavy rainfall going up into pennsylvania, and still some scattered showers left back to the southwest of us. it's all being caused by this area of low pressure. we've been telling you about the series of low pressure. this is the most intense one, with the counterclockwise rotation of air continues to bring moisture in from the atlantic atlantic. that's what is causing the heavy rainfall that is heading right into new england. if you're traveling to long island, new york, harford, boston, going out on the cape, expect 2 to 4-inches of rain in the next 24 hours as the system makes its way through. in the meantime, here in baltimore, we've got some scattered showers around the region. just out to the west of us, there they are right there. there is the showers that came through the baltimore region,

baltimore. up and down the eastern seaboard very, very steamy. you'll notice the line of storms and showers that erupted up to about six hours here. that is all in the process of moving eastbound. the frontal boundary itself will be reorganized with storms as we head through this afternoon. probably after 3:00 at any point in time, we'll start to develop more widespread showers and thunderstorms. today looks like it will be hard pressed to do that. so we could have those storms. it may not happen at 3:00 at your house. it could happen at 5:30 or 6:00. the potential of severe storms as a line of storms continue to slowly move through the area this evening and linger around the bay of the eastern shore. an isolated storm may develop tomorrow afternoon and evening. otherwise, we're looking for a dry weather for the start of the weekend. today's two degree guarantee 85. potential storms turn severe later today. after that, evening storms will taper off overnight. you may wake up with a shower or dampness around the bay on the eastern shore. tomorrow

you can see some heavy downpours between now and about 12:30 across the baltimore region, and over the eastern shore, a few more hours, you will see this stuff, unless it dies out, but it's been holding town from southern p.a., now it's east of d.c. and moving off to the east around 20 miles per hour. flood warnings still going on up in york county until 1:45 in the morning. they've had had a lot of small stream flooding up there and some road closures. be very careful if you're heading up to the york county area. in our local area obviously some of these showers are producing half inch or inch of reign 45 minutes to an hour so there could be some heavy downpours. watch out for puddling. let's take a look at temperatures. 73 here, 77 ocean city. 65 in oakland now. they had the rain earlier. 70 dew point. very, very moist air mass. that's why we're getting these very heavy showers moving through the region. 69 in bel air, showers very shortly there. 70, rain heavy in the westminster, this afternoon and morning had a bunch of showers move through the region. downtown picked up an inch and a half

you can see a few clouds in the eastern shore but they sun is shining from baltimore west word -- but is shining from baltimore westward. this weather system will move east and drier air comes into the baltimore area and tries to push further south. let's look at the current situation. there is the sunshine and a beautiful morning. the humidity is dropping off and the barometer is rising and the breeze is picking up at 12 miles per hour. yesterday's rain was not very satisfying. so far for july we have less than 0.5 inches. we have a deficit of 1.23 inches. so far we are still running ahead, but we are losing our cushion we established this spring with all that rain. we are only 2.3 inches on the plus, and we need to get serious. let's take a look at current conditions. 73 on the bay bridge and 73 in annapolis. only 68 in gaithersburg. this front is moving along the coast and you can see the clouds, but they diminish as he moved to the northwest. this will stall along the coast during the day but all the rain will be offshore or up in the great lakes, where a weather disturbance will

it was a violent night across baltimore county so let's get you informed. >> we begin with the easternpart of the county. police there say last night two men were injured after a shooting in the middle river area of baltimore county. one on starwood court. police say abc2 news that it happened like this -- one victim was found in an apartment there suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and a second victim found at the intersection of russell boulevard and philadelphia road. police believe a third man was trying to drive that victim to franklin square hospital, less than a mile from where the car was found but ran out of gas on the way to the hospital. the driver went to a nearby store to get the gas but by the time they got back the victim flagged down rescuers and police officer arrived on scene. right now no word on whether either man's injuries are life threatening. that driver now being questioned by police. >>> around 10:00 last night we go to the west side. police say two men were shot as they walked down a street in woodlawn. happened at lord baltimore drive near oak ridge
