some relief north of the front across parts of eastern canada. tomorrow morning, the haze and patchy fog. 60s to mid 70s. low and middle 90s. there are the spotty storms well to the north. most will be focused along i- 909 if you have travel plans there. and then during the evening hours, a couple storms may survive. but with the front slow to get through on friday morning, a lot of low clouds are out and a couple showers on friday morning. that may be the best chance to see a couple showers, then the clouds will start to break during the afternoon hours and a slow process and the upper 70s and lower 80s. a good drop on friday. the humidity slowly drops on friday. this is a nice boating day tomorrow, just watch the skies late in the day and the early evening hours. this will be the last day we have the rip current which was low for awhile. they will be moderate to a high risk as we go into friday and saturday. the overall holiday forecast, it's cool air staying out west, and the warm air coming back. after a brief reprieve, we can get to 90 again

here is what is going on and we have two areas of blocking high pressure, one in eastern canada and anothering high of the open waters of atlantic, that high is acting like a shield, it's not allowing joaquin to go out to sea, typically hurricanes move in that fashion, because in the lower u.s. the steering winds are from west to east and an upper level low near atlanta, that low looks to be far to the south and that low will syphon in hurricane joaquin and that is why it could aim towards the carolinas, and that depends on the upper level low, the more south it is from us to about thor it is from us, wins sustained at 85 miles per hour moving to the southwest and makes a curve in to us by saturday and could be a major hurricane over the open waters with winds sustained of 115 miles per hour and not focusing on the direct track, it can move anywhere within this cone somewhere late into sunday and monday into the carolinas up through long island, but the focus could be the carolinas as its looking right now. here is the message, be aware and be prepared. it's a highly uncertain track, it's s

forecast in north america, high pressure is producing e ii relatively clear skies in the eastern united states and canada. there is a flow producing instability so clouds and showers in the carolinas down to florida, and back towards the west, that system responsible for flash flooding in utah shifted east, meaning the upper midwest sees the possibility of pran and thunderstorms. behind that system, much colder temperatures, looking at highs only in the teens of winnipeg through thursday. oncoming low pressure system bringing moisture in vancouver and seattle brings cooler temperatures with a high of 18 degrees in those cities. now, as we look at what's happening in east asia, here in japan, dealing with clouds and a decent amount of rainfall. we've had a stationary front, and now we have a low pressure system that developed from this particular setup. we are expecting the rain to continue to shift to the north, so another day of rain expected friday and a little more sunnier conditions into saturday. now, we are keeping an eye on this type of a storm as it moves to the north and west. the islands will b

the eastern part of the u.s. and canada was one of only a handful of places around the world that saw cooler than average temperatures. but while it was cool here in 2014 almost everywhere else in the world was feeling the heat. all you have to do is look at the data to see it. it's a massive sea of red. and 2014 does not stand alone. 17 of the 18 hottest years in the historical record have occurred in the last 18 years. the past decade was warmer than the one before that, which was warmer than the one before that. and so far 2015 is on track to be even hotter than 2014. all of this is measurement and straightforward fact. of course, as humans we don't experience annual average changes in temperatures. we experience the weather. and we are beginning to see climate change affect weather patterns all over the world. this chart shows the number of extreme warm days and the number of extreme cold nights since 1960. the number of hot days as you can see is climbing, and the number of cold nights is decreasing. both are symptoms
