we see some snow showers and lake effect in parts of pennsylvania, upstate new york, into eastern ohio. but around our area we only saw a little bit of light flurry activity in western maryland around hagerstown and fredrick early this morning. so for the rest of today breezy and chilly, clouds returning for thursday, cold again on friday, and the weekend looking to be milder with a chance for some showers. wind gusts, take a look at this, 33 in downtown, 35 in gaitersburg, even leesburg 39, almost 40 miles per hour. so it is blustery out there, our patio furniture and cushions were all over the place this morning. right now temperatures in the lower 40s in downtown, but just 37 in gaitersburg, out toward cumberland down to 32 degrees. you factor in that cold northwesterly breeze, it feels much colder. 20s in cumberland, even oakland, down to nine, single digits in washington. here 33, gaitersburg 30, laray 29. definitely a day you want to bundle up because it is cold. here's a look at the futurecast. now, we're not worried about snow showers or any precipitation today. tomorrow, thoug

the lakes and is plowing up for the western sections of new york state and into western pennsylvania. and easterne way down and occasionally, we get one of the streamers that comes across the mountains and holds together. i, zeal some of those later on this evening. to the west, that is where the heaviest of the snow is and primarily, this is that snow, upslope snow and they get lifted on the western faces and that creates snow. the winter warnings are in place here for western maryland, eastern sections of west west virginia and extreatment western virginia and -- extreme western virginia and can get 46 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow and that is good for the ski area there and at least it's cold enough to make snow for ski liberty and for whitetail. i just checked 7 springs into pennsylvania and they're getting snow there. natural snow and have had almost 10 inches of that and are making snow like crazy. better to get the new skis out from the christmas present. hopefully. some passing flurries tonight. otherwise, it will be cold and breezy, tomorrow morning and that is cold for the kidos.

the sustained winds and not gusts right now. 20, 22 in dc and 18 along the eastern shore in to easton. and we see 16 in pennsylvania. york, pennsylvania to be exact. this is how it feels once you factor in the winds. so, forget the 40s i showed you. now we are in the 30s. so 37 in to baltimore and easton and feels like freezing over into winchester. so cold enough to support some snow in west virginia. but that cold front is pushing through the area and will hit the eastern shore later this morning. but we are starting to do clearing out there as high pressure will definitely start to build in going throughout the day. but in the wake, the backside of the front dealing with cold air and very windy conditions and high pressure will do its thing and we will see sunshine going into time here. so, we are looking at future trend and future trend picking up on the fact that we will get sunshine in here. looks like we could see snow on the backside of the system. but we won't see anything. maybe you have to travel to pennsylvania and into new york the further north you go you will see snow especially going into thursday.
