eastern shore in delaware. around our region, spotty. it's light. around the city now, very quiet. north of our area is yet to reach northern baltimore. may never get to southern pennsylvaniaif it keeps like this. i think it eventually will because the low pressure is slowly moving up the east coast. we'll probably see some pockets of moderate rain during the day tomorrow. 62 in ocean city. 45 oakland. they've had generally cloudy to partly cloudy skies. no rain and they're officially 57. d.c. and easton and locally temperatures from the low to mid-50s. not going to drop a whole lot more tonight. we have north winds. we've had northeast winds. if we continue to see more of a northerly wind, we might get drier air in here. to the north, it is quite a bit drier. it's the wind off the ocean that keeps the moist flow from the atlantic ocean. there's some evidence that shows this is beginning to move to the north and northeast. if that trend continues, then we might actually have a little bit of brightening to the weekend. in the meantime, we'll be stuck in this low cloud rain pattern all day tomorrow at least on and off. all of friday, it probably will linger i think into satu

eastern time yesterday. she sped at speeds up to 80 miles an hour down pennsylvania avenue. this is the area around garfield circle. slammed it into reverse and shots were fired. she went north and east and this is where the fatal moment happened with her chimed age 1 in the back seat. if you went further southeast there about another mile, that's where the naval yard was and that's where we had the shooting incident two weeks ago. nation's capital on edge. you have two of these incidents in a short period of time. on top of the shutdown. martha: it was real exercise for the capital police who did an amazing job. but they have to be on edge after what happened at the navy yard and war worried something like that of a terrorist nature could happen. they got a standing ovation. members of the house returned to the chamber to continue debating how to end this government shutdown and took to the floor to show their thanks to the capitol police and other first responders. >> i know i join the majority leader in expressing our gratitude to the capitol police. eastern market of new york, philadelphia, and boston. they liked the location. the third thing they liked was access to forests in pennsylvania, the great lakes, and lower canada. the first paper production was in december of 1899. by 19 50s records showed they had 520 employees. in the 19 20s they had over 1,000 employees. by world war ii they around 1500. the economic impact was significant. they did experience more difficult times in the 19 30s. he tried not to lay people off. he cut down the number of ships through the type of the ships that workers worked so people were working part-time rather than being laid off. so he really was someone who looked after the well being of his employees. the hammer mill paper company is noted for several innovations in regard to paper making. in the '30s they were first company to develop what was called zero graphic paper when we know as photocopy paper. they go oned a patent that had do with water marking of paper. they used rubber part instead of metal that lead to greater e -- efficiency. this is the pa end officer model for the water marking device that hammer mill received in 1902
