some steadier rain over eastern pennsylvania. that will translate off to the east during the next couple of hours so that by 9:00 p.m., much of the rain is probably off to the south and east and affecting brooklyn and queens. down through parts of ocean counties in new jersey. this is associated with a cold front. behind the front becoming much chillier. by 7:00 in the morning we are down to 40 in the park. closing to freezing areas north you get off to a sunny start. especially from the city and points north. clouds move in rapidly. we are overcast by 5:00 p.m. look what happens north and west of the city. temperatures stay at or below freezing. meanwhile, we are above freezing. we are not worried about any icy travel in the city and the coast. but north and west of the city, there is a snow, sleet, freezing rain moving in. by 7:00 a.m. tuesday, it is 30 in newburg. 31 sussex. there can still be some issues in the tuesday morning commute. meanwhile everywhere else has gone over to plain old rain. it will come down hard in times.
