it's dragging warm air up the eastern seaboard. it's only extreme northern portions of vermont, new hampshire, and all of the state of maine that we have to deal with ice and snow during the morning. i think maine especially around augusta, i-95, you'll have to deal with the possibility of a lot of sleet, too, mixed in. rain further to the south. we had strong thunderstorms along this front yesterday through the midwest. now we just got showers in pittsburgh southward. there are thunderstorms this morning down here. northern mississippi, northern alabama, across the heart of tennessee. that's where you'll get downpours on this front. even further south through louisiana and heading out of texas, just outside of houston, we've got thunderstorms, and now this has to slide through. veronica, there's still rough weather. not as bad as yesterday, but everyone on the east coast, get ready for the cold air, you're next. >> be careful on the roads. >> yeah. midwest -- middle of winter. >> a mess? all right, thanks, bill. >>> while getting

high pressure inching its way off the eastern seaboard. eventually another area of low pressure headed up through the ohio valley well to our north and west. cold air will be in place. here we are at sunrise on monday. not much going on around town. the clouds come right back in. and there may be an opportunity for a little rain-snow mix along i-81 and northern maryland and southern pennsylvania. here we are stopped at 6:00 sunday or monday evening. that is christmas eve night. it's a fast mover. it should be most if not all rain in and around town. but we might be able to end with a passing snowflake across northern maryland. nice thing is it's on a fast moving pace. we'll be dry on christmas day. so for this evening, evening breezes. clearing skies. cold. lows into the 20s. tomorrow, plenty of sunshine. on the whole, a very december like day. temperatures into the mid and upper 40s tomorrow. here's your all important seven-day forecast. enjoy the sunshine while it's here tomorrow. clouds come back in on monday. chance for mostly rain in

that said, the system is pulling in a lot of moisture still across the eastern seaboard, so we'll see ongoing heavy rain for the next couple of days and certainly a flood risk continuing into the weekend. elsewhere across eastern asia, fairly quiet on the continent. but we have been dealing with a couple of low-pressure systems in japan to the north. an additional 120 millimeters of rain is likely in hokkaido. that could very rapidly melt the snow that's there. when that happens, flooding, mudslides, and also landslides are a big concern. it's also going to be very windy up here, so strong, gusty winds for hokkaido but also for the sea of japan side of northern honshu. we've also got another round of wet weather coming from wednesday, so something else to look forward to in the next few days. now, temperatures are dropping toward the north. just around the freezing point in seoul as well as beijing with minus 21 for the high in ulan bator. shanghai also cooling down to just 11 degrees, and tokyo expecting 10 tomorrow. all right. let's head now into europe. very patchy around here. thi

that's why we're not worried about a big snow or ice storm on the eastern seaboard. it's going to be warm enough for severe thunderstorms, maybe damaging hail and wind. watching areas of alabama and northern georgia. twa warm air up the east coast. all the cold air has been stored up towards alaska, fairbanks, all the way up towards central canada. the door has now been opened. the cold blast has made it down to texas. there's snow flurries not far away from areas like dallas this morning. as far as new england this goes, if you're traveling in the state of maine right now you have to deal with snow and freezing rain. that's the only spot where the cold air is holding on. it's turned to rain in portland and even rain in upstate, new york. it's plenty warm. it will be wet for yourself this morning. as far as the green bay area goes, minneapolis, just some light snow flurries this morning. we're not worried about that. further to the south, there is some rain out there pittsburgh south wrds. charleston, west virginia, you're dealing with rain. further to the south we h
