hagt clause over the northwest, and couple of these disturbances over the eastern seaboard. i want to show you a situation coming out of new south wales first. on sunday morning, winds reach up, uprooting houses. emergency crews received more than 1,000 calls for help throughout the greater sydney region. electricity to 10,000 homes was cut off. the peak of heavy rain is over but light showers will continue across the eastern seaboard for the next couple days, so the risk of flooding will get even higher. to the north, more of concern is this location. this is tropical sumurasty. it could become a 3 or 4 when it reaches your west coast monday. winds and strong winds are going to affect this location within the next couple of days. rainfall total could be huge, more than 300 millimeters likely across some locations, surely enough to cause flooding and landslides. because it has been moving at a slow pace, the projected path could change so we'll keep you posted on the storm's progress. finally, north america, blizzard conditions are happening across the four corners region. t

the drier conditions are on the cars for you but the low pressure system is moving along the eastern seaboard producing rain and snow showers. by thursday your valentine's day conditions will be improved. unfortunately, couples in the florida peninsula may have to stay inside because stormy weather will continue to batter this area into your saturday. up towards the north blowing snow conditions are moving into the great lakes region. up to 20 centimeters is likely. the next pacific system is moving into the west coast of the british columbia. vancouver will see heavy rain showers. temperatures will be quite seasonal at 7 degrees on thursday. very chilly minus 13 in winnipeg. that's about 5 degrees cooler than where it should be this time of year. 4 degrees in chicago and very hot down toward the south. 27 i miami. plenty of sunshine for you in los angeles at 24 degrees. finally in europe a massive cloud mass is moving across the british isles. winds of over 70 kilometers have been reported in some locations. the good news is that the severe weather is tapering off. conditions will improve on

they're all going to meet as we go along the next 24 hours along the eastern seaboard as we go through a blizzard. it doesn't include the new york city area, but it does include almost all of southern new england. the blizzard watches are out here. again, 75-mile-per-hour winds with two feet of snow on the ground. just picture the blowing snow and the storm surge could be anywhere up to 3 to 6 feet. we're going to deal with houses getting battered by waves and unfortunately probably some destruction, too, here especially along the cape cod beaches. the official forecast calls for 18 to 24 inches in boston. even be boston standards, this is a historic storm. new york city will get freezing rain and rain mixing. that's why their total he are a lot less. as we return to the west coast, you dealt with your own storm that moves on shore in the theft. mostly rain, high elevation snow. this cold front is swinging down now through northern california with showers in the north of san francisco. this storm system is going to swell out, bringing unsettled weather to california as we go throughout

storm which is going to kind of travel up towards nova scotia and throw the snow back along the eastern seaboard so it will affect new england. much more so than it will affect us here in the mid atlantic region and in the mid atlantic will affect area east of the bay and should taper off tonight. coming in behind it, a rush of very cold air and difference of pressure between the lows and highs will cause some windy conditions, so even though we expect highs tomorrow to be, you know, in the 30's, it won't feel like it and will feel much colder, 25-29 the low, mostly cloudy skies with a flury or two. north west winds at 7-12 miles an hour. during the day tomorrow, the tulare temperature will be in the mid 30's on average but with those winds gusting over 20 and possibly up around 30 or so, it will feel like the teens to around 20. wind and snow showers along with those clouds, the mix of clouds and sun so it won't be a totally overcast day but we could see snow showers, just a dustup, nothing more than that, maybe just flurries. small craft advisories on the bay. it's a three-foot chop on the ope

it's going to get very interesting along the eastern seaboard in particular. what's happening is we've got this potent system riding up the east coast. that will combine with a powerful and cold nor'easter. the two converging on a very populated area. boston looks like you'll get hit the hardest. all the way south through new york, we'll pick up a foot to two feet of snow. it will pick up quickly. we're concerned about zero visibility. whiteout conditions. stop that clock as we get into the evening. that's when the blizzard conditions set in. look at this where you're getting the lightest pinks, that's where we have the lightest snowfall. very slick conditions. they've got the snow plows ready. the whole thing blows out of here by sunday. so that should ease the travel conditions that we're dealing with out there right now. locally the sun's back out. we picked up a pretty good amount of rainfall. we have beautiful clear skies ahead. great air quality. still cold. near record cold sets in for tomorrow morning. a lot to talk about when we get to your full forec

look how much warmer it is along the eastern seaboard, 10 to 11 degrees warmer today than yesterday and look how much colder it is now behind the front, 11 to 13 degrees colder behind the frontal system. that's the same frontal system that's rolling in here tonight. this is rain along i-81 and points east. this is snow or a mixture back into much of west virginia and also western maryland. it's a great weekend to go skiing, by the way, whether you go to wisp or snowshoe. these are all rain showers. you see the oranges and yellows pop up from time to time. that's pretty heavy rainfall. you're going to see a brief heavy down power. the heaviest rainfall now -- downpour. the heaviest system is north of brunswick. it will roll essentially through frederick in the next 20 minute. don't be surprised if you get caught in brief heavy rainfall and a couple sleet pellets possible later this evening. showers in time for the commute unfortunately, flurries and snow showers overnight, no road problems, temps above 32 and snow shower or flurry possible saturday and sunday, but we cannot buy a snowsto

another storm is going to form sometime tonight and tomorrow along the eastern seaboard.d portions of new england. it's worth noting this storm is going to be a warmer storm and so it shouldn't be as significant for the coastal cities from boston south to around new york city. first things first, let's show you what's happened on the radar and satellite. you can see rain to the south, overall not a strong storm as we speak. however, it's going to crank up during the day tomorrow. notice in new york city it's mainly a rain event as we go through the day, heavy inland snow in new england. boston right on the edge very close call between rain and a mixture of rain and heavy snowfall. inland areas, in the mountains of vermont, new hampshire and even into maine and even the berkshires of massachusetts, a wet, heavy snow. as far as snowfall totals are concerned, we're looking at probably a foot plus in those ski areas. great news for the skiers and not so bad news for the travelers. boston could pick up a few inches of snow. all rain mostly in new york city. >>> one week from t

but the eastern seaboard is going to be the next target.re going to be seeing rain showers, heavy snow showers in some locations. snow is likely in washington, d.c. as well as new york city from wednesday night into your thursday. there's still leftover snow showers on roads due to last week's snowstorm. traveling is going to be more dangerous. meanwhile, drenching rain will persist in the florida peninsula into your saturday at least and up towards the north. an area of blowing snow is reaching the great lakes region. within the next 24 hours up to 20 centimeter is likely in the next 24 hours. and an area of snow is also toward the viechth the central rockies. out toward the west and the next system is moving into the west coast of british columbia, bringing heavy rain for the coastal areas, including vancouver. tefrpz are not too bad in vancouver at 7 degrees on thursday. meanwhile, about five degrees colder than average in winnipeg at minus 13 degrees and 3 for toronto and down toward the south, very hot in miami at 27 degrees. all right
