there will be rains snow, and heavy winds all across the eastern seaboard.ere is what the mess looked like earlier today. and this was a reminder in michigan about the slick roads. you saw the trailer there essentially siding off of the roadway. here was a seen at chicago o'hare. people moving pretty slowly. there were flight delays and cancellations and those are expected tomorrow across the entire nation. robert ray is live from hartsville jackson international airport in atlanta, the busiest airport in the world. rock better what is it like there? >> reporter: david, it's pretty busy. a lot of people inside. all day today it has been pouring rain. though minimal delays. but in the past couple hours we have seen a slight uptick. officials expect about 1.8 million holiday travelers to move in and out of atlanta this week alone. that's a 3.3% increase over last year. today, it has been a bit of a tough day for a lot of the travelers, but tomorrow is when more of a headache could come. here in atlanta, thousands of holiday travelers landed in a cold rainy sou

then it makes its way up to the eastern seaboard.t icy conditions, freezing rain. never good for air travel. and of course, sleet behind that some snow, especially into the ohio valley. conditions worsen through tuesday night and in through wednesday. this is when the heaviest amount of rain. strongest winds will be out there. with that, traffic and air traffic delays will be expected. still icing delays and heavy snow, think about pittsburgh and the ohio valley. going into wednesday, the sim is still here by tapering off as you go throughout the day. conditions will slowly start to improve. we're still talking about rain close to the coastline and snow will start to wind down back there in the ohio valley. but again, thursday, conditions will be better. and once we go in towards thanksgiving day, things will taper off. we keep talking about these two systems merging a awful these things can impact what is going to happen. all of that is up for change. and it continues to change as we get closer in time. we will keep you updated here

the eastern seaboard is in that 50s range. cooler temperatures towards detroit and chicago and kansas city. that's the air moving in our general direction. the front that brought us rain yesterday is well offshore pushing to the south and the east. we have a bit of a low pressure system around the great lakes and the little bit of a trough, the little dip this the jet stream that's associated with that is going to be responsible with a slight chance of showers this afternoon. as you see, most of the area is dry. there's some clouds out there, and that's what we'll see today. partly sunny today, and this system moves right on there. kind of swings on by. does not have a lot of moisture with it. we cannot rule out a chance of a shower. the the cooler air settles in behind it. we drop out of this 60 and 70- degree range we're in today. we go down into the 50s tomorrow and then into monday and tuesday, and then the next high pressure system moves in and we're back into the 60s heading into wednesday, thursday, and friday. our suns

as the storm goes to the gulf of mexico along the eastern seaboard, the green coloring sergeant rain. so as we go throughout your wednesday it looks like the iniest weather is from the carolinas up to the mid-atlantic. heavy rain should be likely. d.c. airport, philadelphia, new york, right into boston. it looks warm enough that we're going to avoid the snow and then that storm will begin to exit. as far as the snow goes on the back side, the area of greatest concerns from the mountains of west virginia, tennessee, all the way back into wednesday afternoon into areas like western new york, cities like pittsburgh, cleveland, erie, buffalo, syracuse, you have the best chance of getting the snow from the storm. that will be wednesday into wednesday night. and maybe even portions of northern new england. so that's the concern if you have any travel issues. as far as today go once again, only bad ice, oklahoma, arkansas and central texas. that's your national forecast. now here's a look at weather outside your window. so for today, that bitter cold that we've been dealing with begins to mo

the eastern seaboard is going to be gone. this will be a huge rain event up i-9 a.you're in interior sections of pennsylvania, out towards pittsburgh, you'll break out in wintry weather as we go into tuesday night and wednesday morning. this will be the peak of the storm for the northeast. wednesday early. the morning commute especially. the storm will be right over the top of new york city. windy and rainy through new england. could get two to three inches of rain out of this. snow as far as heavy snow likely, buffalo, syracuse, rochester, maybe the pittsburgh area, erie. so that's going to be the worst of it. i think a lot of us can deal with the rain. there will be delays. it's not like we're having an epic snowstorm. >> coming up, israel calling the u.s.-iran deal a historic mistake. the white house rushes to get congress onboard. can iran negotiate in good faith? we'll have an all star lineup including michael hayden and mike rogers joining us straight ahead. when we come back, here huddle around the cooler. the cast of "saturday night live" honoring josh hutch

i think the highest risk will be along the eastern seaboard.ou have that moisture flow come around the northern prirry. a lot of these areas are very prone to landslides. and if you get over 300 millimeters of rain, potentially some areas could see about 500. that brings the very serious risk of low-lying flooding and landslides. evacuations are already in place. if you are being advised to evacuate, please take those proper precautions. if you plan on flying out of here as well really throughout the rest of the week, just forget about it because flights are already being delayed and canceled. farther towards the west, rain showers continuing to kick up across portions of vietnam. we have a tropical depression already been bringing flooding rains to about 77 millimeters reported here in the past 24 hours. still some showers going to continue to linger. towards the north, japan's been enjoying mild weather so far this week. we do have a new trough that's starting to pull in out of korea and pushing into western japan. this is going to be bringin
