it's quite cold at the moment, across the eastern seaboard of the us, but as we move eastern seaboardthe atlantic, the jet strea m we move across the atlantic, the jet stream coming towards the uk, and we have a bowl of milder air. it will not stick around too long, into friday, a cold front moving east slowly. that will bring up band of cloud with outbreaks of rain across many parts of the country. it is clear in the east during the day. a return to sunshine and showers coming in as the wind turns more north—westerly. some hail and potentially sleet and snow over higher ground, but in most places the showers will fall as rain. temperatures between eight and 12 degrees on friday. heading towards the weekend, not looking too bad. low pressure isn't far away but it's to the north of the uk. also an area of low pressure clearing from the south. on saturday, fairly cloudy skies for much of england and wales with the potential for some patchy rain towards the south and east. and stony skies towards the north and west, but showers still packing in on the breeze and potentially a bit of wint

the closer the low is to the eastern seaboard, the greater the impacts are going to be for places like the jersey shore, philadelphia, northwestern suburbs. we advance this, this becomes a full-blown nor'easter. what we know right now most of the models are coming around we have increasing confidence that this will hit on wednesday. right now it looks like rain to snow in philadelphia and it could be a plowable snow north and west and becoming windy again. it doesn't look like anything close to what we just dealt with. i don't think we'll see 60-70 mile an hour winds. this particular forecast model that don't show much of anything at all. this particular model shows the potential of this storm here. that darker blue is 6-12 that wouldically lehigh valley, poconos, maybe 3 inches right there in philadelphia and lesser amounts for south jersey and delaware. so again it's a storm we'll have to watch very closely. david murphy, cecily and adam will fine tune this as we start the workweek. overnight all locations dropping well before freezing. it's a cold night, slick spots north and west.
