ebay says there is no evidence of unauthorized activity resulting from this. wade williamson joins us on the phone who studied new techniques to compromise networks. start with you. how do you think this attack happened and how bad is it? >> typically, these things will be coming in through an employee. it is far easier if you are an attacker to find someone who is willing to click on a bad link and click on an attachment. once you are inside the network, you can start rooting around and looking for all of the important databases. that indications is that was the model here. that is a difficult one to defend. >> does this speak to the failure of the ability for the internal checks and balances in ebay to protect their users? >> it's a good point. something that i think is a good databases thate help credit card information seem to have been separated from the ones that held other personal information. which is a good thing. obviously, you don't want to get credit card information or payment information zone. other internal controls, that remains to be seen. i

ebay's database containing users passwords was hacked. there was no mysterious activity within its paypal service where credit card information is stored. ebay officials believe the breach happened in february or march. security experts warn the attack may spread to other sites as people use the same password. ebay stock was virtually unchanged yesterday falling just 8 cents to $51.88. airlines may soon be forced to do a better job at disclosing ticket prices to consumers. the transporation deparment says passegers have the right to a clear understanding of fees for checked bags,seats and taxes. an airline industry group calls the proposal an overreach and says the current fee system is working fine. virgin america airlines may vote to end it's non union status. the transport workers union reports flight attendants at virgin america are seeking a vote on unionization. currently -- virgin is the last remaining non union carrier in the country. it follows a vote coming from jet blue pilots to unionize last month. virgin employees reportedly

we mentioned it is like a combination of amazon, ebay, like with google mixed in.t do you think? >> it's a fascinating company. they also have a pretty significant moat around them. they have very high gross margins -- i'm sorry, offer -- operating margins. they have access to china without taking the inventory. they tend to operate more like a broker. that makes it a very scalable, attractive model. imagine if amazon did not have to take inventory and also got a significant piece of all of those payments. it's a nice elixir of the payment models with access to china that no one else really has. >> there is something about the access that gives them something that lets them have those great operating margins and keep them? >> the fact that they don't own the inventory means that a number of grants have not hesitated. they have not been reluctant to launch storefronts on the site in a way that they might if they felt that they were competing with the online retail business. there are huge opportunities for brands to turn to them. they have an unprecedented audience

. >> it is comprised of , amazon, ebay, google, paypal. you?hat stood out to you have been working on this for weeks now. >> i'm looking at the risk factors. we could not get that earlier. i was curious what they would point out and how it compared to other chinese companies that have gone public. they emphasize the role that the government played in their business and how different the chineseat government can make an impact their business to a large extent. one of those is the structure that i'd know we spoke about a few days ago which is essentially a contract between u.s. shareholders and the company that can be dismantled without much warning. then the holdings are virtually worthless. that is common among internet companies that list in the u.s.. other risk factors include the culture. they need to maintain a strong culture. it's a large ecosystem and we got some clues into the massive scale in today's filing as well as the growth. all of those things are really interesting and important than things that investors are also paying attentio
