. >> for more on the historic freeze let's bring in our meteorologist eboni deon to brings th the latest. >> meteorologist: it's cold, but it's only going to get colder. try your best not to stay outside too long because it's not going to be safe to do that. right now we have temperatures in the teens and 20's. we're at 38 degrees in memphis. much of the nation feeling that cold air but the arctic air is on the move and it will push into the deep south sunday, monday, and tuesday. it will be sticking around for quite some time. here is a look at minneapolis. i just want to show you what we're expecting over the next two days. these are temperatures that we haven't seen since the mid 90's. we're going down to minus 17. it will feel even colder. once you have that wind factored in, it will send the wind chills down below 30's below zero. in is how it will feel on the skin as you step outside, and fargo is going to be one of the worst places hit as we drop to 60 below zero, definitely not the time to be outdoors. this is a look at sunday at noon. really the next couple of days that arctic c

eboni is back with the forecast next on al jazeera america. >> hi, i'm meteorologist eboni deon.e're watching active weather taking shape across the country. it's been all rain here across much of the deep south where tempt artemperatures are milder. but the cold air is on the move and it will head into the northeast dropping our temperatures and bringing with it a little bit in the way of snow. some areas can see over a food of snow. we're not expecting to see that much cold air across the west, but in chicagoland has even eight inches of snow. we could see three to five inches moving into st. louis this evening. it's right on your door step and all that snow will drift in through the evening. conditions will go down hill across much of the northeast and new england. we can see two to four inches on the southern side of the system where we'll go down from the 40s to the 30s. boston we could end up with a foot or maybe even more of snow. now here's a look at all the watches and advisories that are out we have winter storm warnings. a blizzard warning will be in affect late thursd

. ♪ i'm metrologist eboni deon and we have the winds whipping but i want to show you the radar sceneh the rain along coasting areas of washington and oregon it's coming down and light to moderate and breaking up some and know in the mountains of the cascades of washington and oregon and and it's persistent and down in the mountains of colorado just off to the west of denver. add in the mix the winds and it's blowing the snow around really making it very difficult to see on some of those highway passes so you really need to be extra careful here and winds not bad around boise and at 13 miles per hour but montana and great falls the winds are up to 40 miles per hour and winds right around 35-nearly 40 miles per hour as you make your way around billings and the casper, wyoming and the winds are a driving force to cause problems on the roads. this is i-90 when earlier today the eastbound lanes were actually shut down. looks like now things are free flowing but it's still going to be a very slow and slippery go and watch out for that. meanwhile across the rest of the country we have high

also ebony williams, a criminal defense attorney. no relation, thank you. both of you, for joining us today. ebony, he has pleaded not guilty but the cops say he confessed in the presence of his mother to killing this woman. what kind of a defense does he mount? >> certainly it's going to be difficult for his defense team. it is certainly going to be some overwhelming evidence to support the prosecution's version of the events. there is this confession. he might very well try to challenge and suppress the confession but in the absence of showing officer coercion, then it is presumed to be a voluntary and free statement made in waiver of his miranda rights and it will be deemed admissible in a court of law. that is one of the most incriminating piece of evidence a defendant can have against them is a confession. that not the only evidence. there is dna evidence in terms of a forcible rape and surveillance and plethora of evidence for the prosecutor. jon: let me ask you this before we go to chuck. he apparently confessed to the murder, according to police but

. ♪ >>> good afternoon, to you, i'm eboni deon.ant to start off with a look at the snow we with expecting to come into the northeast. it is definitely cold enough to get some of that wintery precipitation. we are expecting heavy amounts of snow, in fact some areas could top a foot, in these darker shades of blue. even around new york city and in newark, we are talking 4 to 8 inches of snow storm system will really start to take shape as we get into thursday and friday and into the weekend. we have some moderate rain showers in the gulf, and the snow has been per advertisent around areas of northern illinois, and even ohio. this snow will continue to drift southward and event yulely it will make its way into parts of kansas and missouri. here is a look at what we're expecting. we're watching an area of low-pressure, that will build up overnight tonight and into thursday, and as it continues to look north it will pull up all of that moisture from the gulf of mexico. where the air is cold enough, we're also going to be deal with snow
