i want to basically echo supervisor daly's, is because i believe the most important thing you can domake sure that this current board needs to make sure as many members as possible our present to vote and choose a mayor in the next year while we wait for election -- i want to basically echo supervisor daly's comments. we do not need an egotistical career politician. we need a person that is knowledgeable, willing to work hard, and willing to listen to the public. right now, you all sitting here are supposedly representing the public who elected this current mayor, and for the next year were supposed to be the mayor, so if the next board elects the mayor, that is not quite right. they do not have the experience. they were not supposed to be in charge of working in that capacity to appoint a mayor. please take mr. daly's comments to heart. thank you. and when we speak to washington there's an echo effect and we need to be one voice and i think that needs to be clear. >> thank you. yes? >> hi, i'm with the california public utilities commission. i watched the news last night and another senator was really claiming on the debate on global warming, gee, i think you're saying it's profitable for the green industries now and i'm thinking, of course it needs to be profitable and really the fossil fuel and oil industries that are making hundreds more times more profit and that's what drives this. if we could internalize externalities and middest oil and regardless of your political leaning if you or we could internalize that that's what it takes to drive the point home to the public. people don't see the profitibility of it. the profitibility of it if they see it, it could achieve it. it's an inconvenient truthfulness. it's rather from your gut than based on facts. well, because i have a vested interest, without saying so, this is my opinion. that comes from a high level as far as kind of covering up the truth and talking what we want

and i want to echo some of the comments made earlier. in terms of data collection, i understand there is a lot of different data that we need to collect, like using different colored paper and having different sheets of information to have low-cost ways and further communique the separateness and distinct message of the data. having not applied to the schools, i did not know the rationale for why we are collecting the ethnicity information or home language information, so it is a different section that has the ethnicity data, there might be ways to communicate that more effectively to parents. and i want to echo the call for more assignment data early. preliminary data, initial data. i think it will go a long way to continue to develop trust, that the process really is working and there isn't a secret black box and i do not know how to dispel the rumor, but is there. >> i just wanted to make a brief comment about what come fewer said about having a more uniform start time. i know that when i was looking at schools, one of the things that

i'm not saying we echo the same wayfinding elements, or signage or bike racks, but it would be nice if the embarcadero promenade guidelines at least related to what we are planning to do on the blue green way to get an identity all the way along the port's waterfront. the signage, for example, along the embarcadero isn't great. it is not easy to read for way-finding. i think because we are going to have a consultant hired for the blue green way project, we may be able to take advantage of some kind of more creative ideas. we also want to be sure that we are talking to the bike coalition about the type of bike racks we use. they don't like the ones we are using on the port property now, and they have some ideas for improvements. as we move forward, i also hope that we can look at the west side of the embarcadero. the planning department spent a lot of time looking at the embarcadero on the other side, and i hope we can echo some of the ideas for the promenade on the other side of the embarcadero. thank you. >> thank you. is there any other public comment? thank you, dan. that was very i
