joining me now on the phone is harris county judge ed emit with the harris county office of home securitymergency management and the hurricane harvey relief center and met with the president as he made many stops. thank you for being here, judge. tell me how the conversation went and what you saw? >> well, the conversation went very well. the shelter that the president visited was one that harris county set up in a matter of six hours to handle 10,000 people. we haven't had that many people in it, fortunately, but it is probably the model that will be followed in the future and i think the president was impressed. but more importantly, the conversation was very direct about what is needed next and that was a lot of conversation about debris removal, and i must say he -- he not only list anned, he basically turn his aides and said get it done and 15 minutes later my office got a e-mail from the white house saying this is what is going to happen. so, you got to admire that. >> well yeah, if we could turn around things that fast, judge, that was pretty quick. most importantly, though, how ar

joining me by phone ed gonzÁlez of harris county, texas, that includes houston.nks for taking a few moments to chat with us. we just got word from ken paxton, attorney general in texas that there's major price gouging, a few isolated, a $100 for case of water, $20 for gas, there's people why who have jacked up hotel prices, are you seeing anything like that happening in houston in the surrounding areas? >> i have not heard that. i know early on i did hear a few incidents but nothing severe that was early on and since the storm ravaged this area i haven't heard anything. it's unfortunate, i'm sure it does happen in isolation but by in large people are getting out and starting to rebuild their lives as best they can and i haven't seen any signs of price gouging and i've traveled most of the county. >> this is good to hear. on another law and order issue, our correspondent who has done a tremendous job, he's been all over, he's reporting out of west colombia, brazoria county, people protecting neighborhoods from looters, are you seeing any looting? >> in harris coun

ed? >> reporter: according to harris county officials there are still main areas of concern. this neighborhood you see behind me very much under water. this is on the west side of town near those reservoirs we talked so much about over the last few days and also another area on the nooeft sirtheast side of to. as the floodwaters have receded and the cleanup begins, those firefighters and first responders going through the neighborhood and making the grim discoveries of people who weren't able to escape the floodwaters or were trapped on their way out or just couldn't escape it. the death toll has now risen to 47 because of hurricane harvey. those teams will continue to fan out across the city and continue those searches as well. that's the grim work being done as well as the cleanup which will take months. across the city, county officials say 136,000 structures have been damaged because of the floodwaters. that includes neighborhoods, homes and businesses. a lot of work in the cleanup process that needs to be done. in some places here, like over near where the reservoir is o
