our guest this week is ed parkinson who is ceo of firstnet authority. now, what kind of roadblocks or difficulties has 5g created in the buildout? >> guest: i wouldn't say roadblocks. i would almost spin that are bound and called more opportunities. there's a balance when asked to strike in terms of where public safety sits. the opportunities of 4g lte in 2007 were unknown and all of a sudden you saw these incredible companies being born out of the ingenuity of the marketplace. as we approach 5g for taking a similar approach. we have a team in her organization that is engage with industries to understand what type of opportunities exist in the commercial marketplace as 5g comes online. engaging, having relationships with industry players, having a strong working relationship while the at&t accountable is fundamental to the success of firstnet. it it's understand the type its 5g will have in the public safety community. when youhi think of smart fire stations, smart police stations come understanding you will have live streaming videos come directly from

peter: ed parkinson, just a oneoff from john's question about deployables. do first responders need to carry an additional piece of equipment to be able to be on the first nhl network work or additional equipment is adapted? >> there are where different ways these can be use. . some are commercial grade but ultimately it's the broad band type service we've seen. we've also seen an increase in high powered user. this is stationed inside of a vehicle and we've seen range extension of town 20 miles. it's only licensed by the feckfeck. and again, it's a world first. so seeing the type of dramatic increase is coverage, especially in europe area, has been apays mag to see. again, it's the type of example of where we can work with a.d. -- t.t. that ultimately considering leveled think -- by public safety and where there was no coverage before, we know now have that. it's a balance of where public safety sees the use and how we can supply that. not really, really excited in terms of not only what we've seen but examples of where it's going in the future. peter: the
