a record only eclipsed by the 70 million who watched the beatles debut on t"the ed sullivan show threehe beatles poll numbers would have looked like in iowa and new hampshire that presidential year. now, ronald reagan was a no less sunny personality. when he became president he said i think most of the time the overwhelming majority of reporters do a fine job. as a former reporter, i know how tough their job can be. nevertheless, reagan had a sometimes bumpy relationship with the press. then on march 30th, 1981, he was shot and nearly killed outside this very hotel, the washington hilton, as he was about to duck into his limousine. a bullet lodged within an inch of his heart. reagan was scheduled to speak at, yes, the white house correspondents dinner. so he telephoned in this line instead. if i could give you a little bit of add viets, when somebody tells you to get into a car quick, do it. that was a touch of class that has been sorely missing in our political culture in recent years. it was a subtle reminder that whether republicans or democrats, we are all bona fide members of team

here's brian sullivan in for scott wapner. >> thank you, ed good to be with you on thursday and have you with us the degate and trade, biggest stories of the day are josh brown, job eye jarrian, and one of barron and forbes top 100 advisers and carrie, thank you for adding class to this panel the market is up big time, depending on the market you pick, 10%, 15%, 23%. >> good question up 23% from the bottom of december, here we are about to start earnings season and we know earnings will be down the markets have been fantastic in overlooking what will be a weak first half or looking at the second half. as we start to hear companies report, numbers say they're bringing down guidance, that can be a little tricky we're up so much that even if the market were to come back in 5% or so, we're still having a year that's up over 10%, that's great for the first four months of the year. so i'm not worried about that and we don't really see interest rates going up we don't have the fear of recession particularly and we're comfortable the second half of the yearwill be better the market can stay
