:his name is edgar covarrubias-padilla and this is video from his court appearance last month.bias-padilla is a former camp supervisor.nicknamed papa bear. he's now behind bars and facing 7 charges including child molestation and possession of child pornography. covarrubias- padilla started working at the walden west science camp in 2013, eventually becoming night manager. the position he held at the time of his arrest and a position where he often interacted with students. those representing the district say that covarrubias-padilla "overplayed" or exaggerated his job history. saying he had extensive work with the ymca. those with the ymca tell me he was only employed there as a program aide who assisted teachers for five months between 2007 and 2008. they acknowledge that he did do volunteer work on a couple of occasions before that time but nothing more. no reference checks were ever done but the district says it is not their policy to make reference calls on volunteerswhich covarrubias- padilla was when he started. they do say they did a fingerprint background check that tu
